NOVI PAZAR -- Ten young men donning long beards, short pants and white hats broke up a concert of the Balkanika orchestra.
The hooligans were dressed like members of the vehabit movement. They climbed up onto the stage and threw around the instruments that were set up for the musicians to play. One of the young men toko the microphone and told those attending the concert: “Brothers, go home, they are working against Islam here. This is Satan’s work.”
He then threw the microphone, which was damaged, as were the speakers, mixing board and some of the lighting.
Four police officers were present at the concert in Novi Pazar and used force to get the youths off of the stage and stop them from coming back. The concert was organised by the Novi Pazar municipality and the Serbia Culture and Sport Ministry.
About a half hour later, a group of about 50 Novi Pazar football supporters, upset over the team’s loss to Mladosti from Apatin, started throwing stones at the stage where the concert was supposed to be held. Earlier, the game was stopped for an hour after the Novi Pazar fans hit referee Nikola Maljković in the head with a rock.
The police have yet to comment on the two incidents, though further public concerts in the region will probably all be cancelled.
The vehabit is a radical Islamic group founded in Saudi Arabia. It is hard to give an estimate on how many supporters the group has in the Sandžak area, but what is sure is that the numbers have increased greatly in recent years.
If anyone wants to be added/removed from my Balkan ping List please FRmail me.
Clinton's buddies, right?
well, yes, Clinton buddies...
Well, he got that part correct anyway.
Did I mentioned that "pro-western" goverment in Serbia is Soros founded? No? so, now I have.
Thanks for the info.
This is music that is called "Satanic" by Vehabis in incident in South west Serbia:
Why didn't they arrest them and put them in jail?

You Serbs all have to take karate or Judo lessons to survive. The international community will not allow your police or soldiers to defend Serb civilians from Muslim attacks, so civilians have to know how to defend themselves.

Yes, the problems got worse after Milosevic's government was overturned. And the very fact that these Muslims in the tens of thousands lived in Serbia all throughout the Bosnian war and after is proof that the Serbs weren't out to genocide Muslims. They were only fighting where paramilitary and military formations of separatists had control and were killing and ethnically cleansing Serbs. Where the Serbian army had full control - in Serbia - there were no church or mosque bombings, houses burned, or ethnic killings.
What I wonder though is if any Serbs in that area supported Milosevic's overthrow and believed in all those false promises that everything would be better once he was out of power.
Why isn't anyone blaming Otpor hooligans and supporters for the problems and false promises and giving them a hard time the way they harassed the Milosevic government?
Sometimes i pray for Serbia`s Franco or at least Pinoche...
Like Hillary wanted to be a Marine, did you know Helen wanted to be a fireman?
Problem was men were electing to stay inside burning
buildings rather than come out, once they spotted her.
That is new moment.
I don`t know why Serbian goverment isn`t doning enything.
I LIVE in Serbia, and my friend phoned me to tell me that this hapened, noone dared to publish it on TV, and only THAN I found the news on Internet to confirm that.
Good old communist hush hush until it erupts strategy :(
What makes you so sure they have any penii at all?
Not really terrorism, but related. (All the rest of my comments are deleted but you can imagine.)
Vehabit = our old friends the Wahabbis. I gues thats the Serbo-Croatian transliteration.
But I don't get the short pants part. They kill people for that in Iraq.
Why aren't they being blamed for how things didn't get better after Milosevic's departure?
See correction in Post 5.
Keep letting the Islamist and Diyanet (secular government) Turkish missionaries in to brainwash people and this kind of insanity will only continue.
LOL! Absolutely true!
We could solve a multitude of the world's problems -- including "Islamic jihad" and "the oil crisis" -- with one teeny little neuton bomb dropped on Saudi Arabia!
Oh, they are blamed for ruining the country. Yet OTPOr as organisation seased to exist 1,5 years a go they, Oficialy merged with (can you imagine) Democratic party of president Boris tadic (soros founded president of Serbia)
When is Madonna's concert in that great venue? the Dixie chicks??
Breaking up music concerts, hmm where have we seen this before?
I wait to see a notice nailed to the Church doors in Serbia saying:
"From now on, services will be held on friday instead sunnday. Allah Akbar"
I assume "vehabit" is the Slavic way to spell "wahabbi"?
What would Slobodan Milosevic do in this situation?
This is the kind of thing you'd expect in the Moslem part of Bosnia, not Serbia....
If these were real Moslems, AND there were football supporters around, would these Moslems have gotten out without being beaten?
Sure this wasn't a JOKE perpetrated by some hooligans donning fake beards?
Wahhabis in short pants?
I suspect this story is 'not on the level'...
"police is working on ID the excess suspects. Sanja Ilic, singer of the group "Balkanika" said that Muslims climbed onto stage yelling "This is Islamic city, this is satanic music"
Just watched primetime news.
Sanjak/Rashka is 50% Muslim infested region devided in half between Serbia and Montenegro. Many of Bosnian warcriminals came from Sanjak, as same as one terror suspect now on trial in Bosnia.
Couldn't the organizers have booked "Jinn and Deen" to mollify the mullahs?
Because the U.S. would bomb them.
There can be no peace with islam.
The author repeats himself -- the terms are redundent.
Weren't they mostly students, and wasn't university education almost or totally free for them under Milosevic's rule? I believe I've read that in the few years since his ouster they've started charging the students or have been charging them much more. Is that true? If so, it sounds like they didn't know how good they had it.
Oh, you are so right!
That is a fault of Milosevic and leftists:
Give them all education feed the, cloth them, let them ruin the country!
In serbia, students organised in OTPOR hade FREE education, Law School student year costed 1,200 Dinars (40$ back than), one month sallery! Any young man and girl could get academic education, including living in a dorm. And for students that achived highest scores on admission tests, no scholarsip at all, totally free, not a cent!
And they wanted to change that.
And they did.
Now, a year of law school costs 800$, on architect academy, 12,000$.
Oh, yes, one of the leaders of "Studend upriing" against Milosevic is Cedomir Jovanovic, nowdays Liberal-Democrat Party leader, supporter of gay right, critic of Church and all-in-all bastard.
Just for arguments sake, average salley in Serbia is 200$ per month.
Josys of Soros-fluffers run economy and state.
Feels like living in Moscow in 1936 under Stalin.
At least Stallin didn`t sold out his country. This ones do.
I agree. The U.S. took the wrong side in the Bosnian and Kosovo wars during Bill Clinton's administration. Our current president believes Islam is a beautiful religion of peace, and may pursue the same policy as his predecessor against the Serbs.
