(Canadian) Suspects linked to Baghdad militant (Zarqawi)

The arrest of six Mississauga men for allegedly conspiring to blow up the Parliament buildings and the Toronto Stock Exchange is the latest stop on a complex web of terror that connects back to the world's most wanted man, international investigators are saying.

Investigators say the arrests of the Mississauga men are linked to an intricate terror network spreading from the back streets of Baghdad through cells of young Islamic militants living in European capitals.

The arrest of 17 suspects, many of them teenagers, picked up in Mississauga and across the GTA during a counter-terrorism sweep on the weekend, is said to be the latest stage in dismantling a terrorist network that's linked to Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the leader of al-Qaeda in Iraq.

For nine months, Operation Mazhar's police and intelligence agents in eight countries have monitored emails and intercepted phone calls, leading so far to the arrest of 30 men.

It is interesting all the names they have for Zarqawi like Militant, Insurgent, Rebel Leader, and Resistance Fighter.

Terrorist is a bad and evil word only to use for white guys in hoods and pick up trucks.

b...b....but we were told that there was "no common denominator" among these angels - the RCMP spokesman and the MSM can't even MENTION Islam, and now we're hearing they're part of "an intricate terror network" of Islamists stretching across the globe??? Gee, I sure wish someone would decide what's PC enough for the public to know....

Puts the NSA hoopla in a new light, perhaps. Those of us who already understood the importance of such programs are not surprised, but for all the Demagogues and MSM bozos who have been bashing on the WH and the NSA, it would be appropriate to ask them HOW THE #%x%#$# DO YOU EXPECT TO PROTECT THE USA WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO MONITOR INTERNATIONAL JIHADISTS CONSPIRING TO SLAUGHTER US?

WEll, they can sue the evil Bush for 'spying' on them (Harper thanked Bush for the help and the two countries worked together on this, nabbing TERRORISTS all over the place.

Hey, you dimRats in DC Capitol Building - YOU were one of the targets. Got a clue yet? (I'm sure you'll thank President Bush for saving your sorry hides by - gasp - intercepting these dear little boys phone calls. Oh, no, now you have more proof of his 'spying' so you'll probably move on with impeachment. That's the way rats act)

And they had two major targets in Canada - Canada, who has done nothing but mollycoddle the muzzies for years.

Get a clue, libs....your neck is on the line too.

Think this isn't a holy war. Think not calling it one will make it NOT one?

It is a Holy War. Anyone in any country not born muzzie is the target.

"W" knew it right from the get go. And got slapped down by the PC crowd and the libs - oh,wait, they are one and the same........

Not as far as Arlen Specter is concerned, he is mad as heck at Cheney because he said Cheney was telling other judiciary committee members NOT to cooperate with HIS hearings about the NSA data mining!!!

THIS, after hearing about how the Canadian authorities caught this terrorist ring...

Our country is going to go DOWNm with people like Arlen Specter in places of power.

I really wish there was some way to apply pressure for the Republicans to replace Specter as Chairman.

That's true, the SPECTRE continues to be the worst kind of RINO, hassling the WH and NSA, etc. unreasonably when he should be concerned with how to improve our programs and protections. I can't stand to listen to that guy, and I really wish the Republicans would put him out to pasture.

I thought that the "freedom fighters" in Iraq weren't a threat to us.

Holy War or not it is a WAR to the death. Either ours or theirs. Sad most Americans can't or don't want to realize that.

We will never know how much the dimRats traitorous disclosure of the intercept program interfered or hampered this operation that netted this group...or what may have been sabotaged totally -

And now, with the terrorists having been told what methods are used - who knows what system of communications they have switched to or how we will now be able to connect the dots...all because the demRats are so filled with hate and are so power hungry... Maybe there SHOULD be impeachments - in Congress and the Senate.

Most definitely, they should be prosecutions for the leaks

Well...let me reassure you of something tonight...that should make you sleep easier.

I watched Hairball tonight...and old Chrissy had Joe Biden as a guest.

Well...ole Joe said that Iran is NOT an imminent threat to America...and would NOT be for years...that it would be a LONG time before we have to worry about them having nuclear capablity.

THERE, now, do you feel safer???

LOL

Geeezum - NOW how'm I gonna get to sleep? Thanks a lot!

Has Rocky made his trip to Iran yet to let them know exactly what Pres. Bush is thinking on doing?

This is getting to be a scary world - this ole great gramma is thinking about going back to the deep woods she was born in...more bear'n'moose than people.

Turn off the TV, shut off the 'puter and knit.

But for tonite, I'm gonna make me an old fashioned cup of country cocoa...helps with sleep.

I remember two weeks ago Chrissie on Wiffleball agreeing with Murtha that Iraq doesn't present a terror threat to the US.

Ever since that feckless imbecile Biden, planted those corn rows of ass hair on his scalp --- he has literally had his head up his own ass.

He, along with too many others in our Senate -- have far exceeded their intellectual capabilities..and lack the credentials, credibility or integrity to handle the job.
