I'd say that traffic accidents and disappearances without a trace would be more effective than publicized arrests.

Yep! I saw several articles here from Canadian sources and they were saying the same thing. Time for Canada to wake up - I agree .. and I wish the USA would wake up too.

3 songs come to mind from a well known Canadian rock band...(a favorite of mine by the way) Rush...and their attitude towards the current war and the wars of the past

"Peaceable Kingdom"

A wave toward the clearing the sky

All this time we're talking and sharing our rational view
A billion other voices are spreading other news
All this time we're living and trying to understand
Why a billion other choices are making their demands

Talk of a peaceable kingdom
Talk of a time without fear
The ones we wish would listen
Are never going to hear

Justice against the hanged man
Knight of Wands against the hour
Swords against the kingdom
Time against the tower

All this time we're shuffling and laying out all our cards
While a billion other dealers are slipping past our guards
All this time we're hoping and praying we all might learn
While a billion other teachers are teaching them how to burn

Dream of a peaceable kingdom
Dream of a time without war
The ones we wish would hear us
Have heard it all before

A wave toward the clearing sky
A wave toward the clearing sky

The hermit against the lovers
Or the devil against the fool
Swords against the kingdom
The wheel against the rules

All this time we're burning like bonfires in the dark
A billion other blazes are shooting off their sparks
Every spark a drifting ember of desire
To fall upon the earth and spark another fire

A homeward angel on the fly
A wave toward the clearing sky

Heresy"

All around that dull grey world
From Moscow to Berlin
People storm the barricades
Walls go tumbling in

The counter-revolution
People smiling through their tears
Who can give them back their lives
And all those wasted years?
All those precious wasted years
Who will pay?

All around that dull grey world
Of ideology
People storm the marketplace
And buy up fantasy

The counter-revolution
At the counter of a store
People buy the things they want
And borrow for a little more
All those wasted years
All those precious wasted years
Who will pay?

Do we have to be forgiving at last?
What else can we do?
Do we have to say goodbye to the past?
Yes I guess we do

All around this great big world
All the crap we had to take
Bombs and basement fallout shelters
All our lives at stake

The bloody revolution
All the warheads in its wake
All the fear and suffering
All a big mistake
All those wasted years
All those precious wasted years
Who will pay?

"Red Sector A"

All that we can do is just survive
All that we can do to help ourselves is stay alive

Ragged lines of ragged grey
Skeletons, they shuffle away
Shouting guards and smoking guns
Will cut down the unlucky ones

I clutch the wire fence until my fingers bleed
A wound that will not heal
A heart that cannot feel
Hoping that the horror will recede
Hoping that tomorrow we'll all be freed

Sickness to insanity
Prayer to profanity
Days and weeks and months go by
Don't feel the hunger
Too weak to cry

I hear the sound of gunfire at the prison gate
Are the liberators here?
Do I hope or do I fear?
For my father and my brother, it's too late
But I must help my mother stand up straight

Are we the last ones left alive?
Are we the only human beings to survive?

Most dont want to realize it because the President can't acknowledge it.

Once the President beats the MSM over the head with the facts that WMD have been found and we were and continue to be justified to be there, then maybe other Americans will believe we are in a battle for the survival of Western/Christian Civilization.

"Investigators say the arrests of the Mississauga men are linked to an intricate terror network spreading from the back streets of Baghdad through cells of young Islamic militants living in European capitals."

I wish some journalist had the stones to ask President Bush what islam really is all about. Is it the "religion of peace" he insists it is, or is it the international group of countless thugs who want to conquer the world for 'allah' through the toppling governments through subversive means, such as bombings, murders, and terror attacks that include wholesale slaughter of children, bio-terror and chemichal warfare; or even nukes when they get them.

The deeper they scratch the surface of islamic terror and discover the depth and breadth of its activities and the sheer numbers of their members, the more Islam reveals itself to be a raging, seething, boiling and far-reaching underground facist regime always looking for governments to terrorize, innocents to murder and infrastructures to destroy. But in NO case is Islam "peaceful". Not that I would expect reality to have any real bearing on the good citizens of the Washington elite.

It is interesting to note, however, that no matter how many of these terrorists we kill in Iraq, Afghanistan and other places around the globe, they get replaced, and quickly. For all our military might we can't create a shortage of Islamic terrorists after years of fighting them all over the globe. This tells me that just about every one of the 1 billion muslims out there is a terrorist waiting for his call to arms when he's needed.

Meanwhile our leaders are lulling us to sleep with ridiculous stories about Islam being "peaceful". We face a highly determined and murderous enemy, and our leaders want to praise them as 'peaceful'. That's a deadly combination, and I hope the fish scales fall from Bush's eyes in a hurry, before he lulls the whole nation to sleep. When the enemy (Islam) attacks Bush just may be asleep at the helm again, just like last time when only 19 terrorists got the towers, 3,000 of our brave, respectable, American friends and fellow citizens.

If there were but one honest, well-meaning thought in Washington, D.C. that I would like to see put out to the American people, it would certainly have to be: "Take heed, America, beware of Islam amongst us, they are not trustworthy people. We have every reason to believe the majority of them want to drive us out of our homeland by changing the way we live, by slaughtering and terrorizing our people through toppling our infrastructure as on 9-11, and by re-introducing horrible diseases that were once eradicated. Their plan is to watch all these things take their toll on us; and as we continue to become a land of moral degenerates, and a people who are rapidly loosing our middle class, we may also lose our desire to fight. Then divisions amongst us, big and numerous divisions, will be used to further weaken us. Then the time will be right for the 'big' Islamic attack. But the bigger question is, will America be up to the task? I pray to God we are.

Thanks for the ping...this is IMPORTANT and yet, the BIG MSM have virtually ignore all of this, or spun it.

If reports are correct that a computer was recovered from the not-so-safe house, our guys just might have a whole lot of links to follow. Releasing the word on the computer may have been intentional.

Just in case you have not heard this yet:

ABC News: Zarqawi may have been killed [Confirmed DEAD by NBC] Now breaking on MSNBC & CNN

The President heard about this late yesterday, but we apparently waited for the Iraqi PM to announce it in Baghdad!

How did a computer survive a precision air strike?

Yes, and updates at the above link. I've been informing people for years that all this "terrorism" stuff is connected- sometimes loosely, sometimes closely.

If you ever see a copy of this 26 year old book:

THE CRIMSON WEB OF TERROR - CHAPMAN, ROBERT D. AND M. LESTER CHAPMAN Open this result in new window

browse through it, and see how many of the current players were interconnected way back then.

I expect we'll learn more about the strike in coming days, but from what someone posted on the main thread Zarqawi was alive when taken by Iraqi police at the scene, but he later died of his wounds in custody. It would suggest that the house was not flatened. In any event, I would imagine that a computer that was on site might have escaped damage. And it it was damaged, there surely are ways to recover data from a hard drive --- even one badly damaged.

I'm reading posts over at the long thread that pictures of the 'safe' house show it really demolished. Makes you wonder about how anybody survived even for a short while, and how a computer might have survived.

I'm going to suggest that Zarqawi wasn't personally carrying the computer and/or was protected by a special case. Lotsa debris in these hits....

I saw Specter on CNN with Wolf Blitzer last night, explaining why he is so angry with Cheney and the White House. He kept saying "we have oversight. We have oversight." I hope Cheney's reply his letter from Specter is clear, unambiguous, and supportive of the NSA program, as is!

The Zarqari news is going to step on Specter's hissy fit in today's news cycle. A collateral benefit of Z's death.
