Got this email from my mom and thought it was great news to share with anyone who might be interested. I'm not a stock holder in Sears or have any affiliation for the good press.

Makes me want to shop at Sears.

If this is true, I'm glad I bought my new lawnmower at Sears Hardware (nice mower, BTW).

Sears is indeed one of the good guys. Thanks!

Pass the word...shop at Sears and like-minded Corporations.
To: ritewingwarrior
Sent them an e-mail...I'm a good Sears customer, anyway.

Happy to report I nearly always go to Sears for major appliances and other big-ticket items. That's mainly because it says "Satisfaction Guaranteed or Your Money Back" above the door. Having worked there in the past, I know what that guarantee means.
Thanks for posting this.

Look at the list linked to by Snopes. For some reason people say Apple Computer is anti-military, but they're listed as a company that also goes beyond what's required. It's interesting to see most of the big tech companies there.
That Northrop, Lockheed and EDS do it is understandable, since they are staffed with quite a few former servicemembers working on contracts for the military.

I just bought a new lawn tractor at Sears, and I made sure they knew this was one of the reasons I bought it from them.

Sears was not so kind to my wife and I when I was deployed. They refused to lower our interest rate to the legally required 6% under the SSCRA. They told us that my wife was the primary card holder so the SSCRA didn't apply to our situation.

Unfortunately, Sears may have been right legally. But yes, it would have been nice if the company had been more accommodating. Did you or your wife talk to a customer service rep, or did either of you try for someone higher up?

<>I submit that Sears is an exemplary corporate citizen and should be recognized for its contribution.
I had heard this two years ago. I also checked it out and found it to be true.
I stopped doing business with Sears back in 1972 and have not darkened their door since.... Until I heard this. we now shop Sears almost first to see it they have the product we are looking for.
I think the greatest thing ab out it is that they don't do it for the publicity (I've never heard them toot their own horn about it). They seem to be doing it because that is how the owners REALLY feel.
Cordially,

Good for them. Sears will get some business from me in the very near future.

reminder - shop at Sears.
Just bought a snow-blower there, because of their excellent return policy, warrenty, etc...and because they have made the extra effort for our military people.
I also finally walked into a Wal-Mart, and bought some stuff, just because it will enrage Nancy Pilosi and John Edwards.

Gosh bitt, you just FINALLY went to Walmart? I can spend a couple of hours browsing in Walmart, lol.
They were the only store in town that had an outdoor Nativity scene last year when I was looking for one!

Related: Flew Southwest Airlines today. Last message from the flight attendant: "Thank you for flying Southwest. And God Bless the United States, and God Bless our men and women in the military!" Applause followed.
Makes me feel kindly towards the airline. Also noticed that Southwest pilots now are wearing red, white, and blue patriotic neckties. Nice touch.
