Some Democrats, breaking ranks from their leadership, today said the death of terrorist leader Abu Musab Zarqawi in Iraq was a stunt to divert attention from an unpopular and hopeless war.
"This is just to cover Bush's [rear] so he doesn't have to answer" for Iraqi civilians being killed by the U.S. military and his own sagging poll numbers, said Rep. Pete Stark, California Democrat. "Iraq is still a mess -- get out."

Yes, or like saying "mission accomplished" as someone else commented on a thread.
There's a lesson to be learned (or rather re-learned). Some people just look at the short opening statement or soundbite and evaluate it out of context, and others (like me in this particular instance) too quickly take those evaluations without checking it out for themselves. It pays to go back to the source and read what was actually said or done and see it in context.
Everyone at the DNC are wearing Black Armbands and have declared a week of mourning over their tragic loss! And that was just the Bilbray win.

Maybe the Defense Dept. should issue a daily body count of the number of terrorists killed, and the number captured. The only good terrorist is dead terrorist. We should be killing them even faster.

The strategy they are using has a hidden component.
The MSM and their followers know that we must fix the mess before we pass the baton. That is what a war is for.
They want us to get out prematurely in order to leave a mess.
One that can be blamed on the previous administration, and the Socialists(sp? democrats)politicians will promise to 'fix' things.
Which they would never do. Fixing things takes money , and they sure can't waste it on silly crap like that. It needs to go in their FREEZER disguised as CHICKEN.

Nice statement. Depends on your point of view. It sounds like a socialist-minded impression of the United States, to me.
Clinton promised to fix things. In the demo/soc (easier) philosphy that meant the same as organized crimes use of the word 'shakedown'. More of the "hey,,,,just because the President is poppin' and roastin' virgins like Muhammed (sp?), it is none of your business, it's what you need to do for us" speeches, and promise to fix the wild-eyed right-wing activists (that we have had under our thumb the whole time), while totally botching everything up. Then covering up.
The current Administration (call it what you will). "Failure is not an option."
