---What states require registration of guns?---

New York and California are two.

"People carrying guns on the streets of New Orleans during an emergency will be stopped but their gun won’t be taken unless they can’t show that they are lawfully in possession of it, Chief Warren Riley said Thursday night on WWL’s INews cast."

Just a weaselly way of stating, " I was a little too obvious in my last statement. Since you won't be able to whip out a receipt or card, we'll confiscate your guns anyway. "

Perhaps Riley could inform the public as to where he will be during the emergency. This would allow law-abiding citizens to bring their guns and their proposed form of ID directly to him for his approval. Law-abiding citizens should not have to wait for some random encounter with an armed policeman to get this situation cleared-up.

What if you bought it from a private party (which is legal). What kind of proof would you have then?

They only take the weapons from the vunerable and/or those who voluntarily submit. Others, like those roving gangs, are considered too dangerous to be f*&*^ked with, and are therefore left to roam freely with their weapons out in the open.

Right?
