(06.09.06) Fires were intentionally set inside two Wal-Mart stores late Thursday, Glendale fire investigators said Friday. Both stores were evacuated after the flames broke out, and six people were treated for smoke inhalation, with two taken to local hospitals. Fire officials said damages were estimated at $5 million, mostly from smoke and water damage. One of the stores was to remain closed until Monday.
The first fire started about 10 p.m. in the rear of a Wal-Mart in Glendale and forced about 120 people to evacuate, Deputy Fire Chief Elio Pompa said. A second fire broke out about an hour later at a Wal-Mart several miles away. It also began in the rear area of the store and forced 75 people to be evacuated. Both fires were contained by the stores' sprinkler systems, but there was extensive smoke and water damage. Pompa announced a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible.
Investigators were looking into a number of motives, including the possibility the fires were set by a disgruntled former employee.
They should be able to get some info from the store surveillance systems. Walmarts have hundreds of cameras in them.
Democrats.
With all the public hatred being expressed toward Walmart, can we call this a hate crime?
A fundamental respect for property rights, the bedrock for all of our rights.
With the moves lately in several state legislatures controlled by the Demons, the police should look for someone in the wacky left for sure. It is about time the law went after some of these people, including elected officials, for inciting to riot and destruction of property.
As long as liberal DemocRATS are going to continue spewing their vitriol against Walmart, their braindead followers are going to engage in these types of actions. Most likely, the perps who did this were just following orders from their DemocRAT massas.
;-)
Environmentalists or somebody that got fired, unions are weak here.
We can, but the Drive-by Media and the Liberal Pointy-head Elites won't listen, because they like and support what's happening ...
Sam Walton did not qualify for victim status due to his skin color, so neither do his stores.
WalMart PING!!!
I wonder if it's the Fendi people?
You beat me to it........LOL!!!
Yes, unions are fairly weak here, which is exactly why they are trying very hard to get a better foothold here. My wife works for Banner Health, and the Unions are always pushing, trying to unionize Banner, but management is smart like Walmart, and fights and holds them off.
I still think it's Union thugs. Walmart isn't chopping down any trees in Glendale to aggravate the enviro-wackos.
Dang Costco shoppers!
They push but they can't succeed, it's a right to work state, management doesn't even have to push, just don't sign a CBA and fire everybody who goes on strike for "cause".
Enviros don't care if you chop down trees, having a big parking lot will do it.
Could be Coca Cola truck drivers.
Union thugs and Enviro-wackos are probably equally capable of committing arson on a store, each for their own reasons.
"I wonder if it's the Fendi people?"
Since we're throwing out wild theories here, maybe it was easier for the the Animal Liberation Front pukes to burn down Wal-Marts versus burning down the Fendi factories overseas? Remember: It's OK to kill humans in the process of liberating animals. *Smirk*
And no leftist has yet drawn the conclusion that the perp set fires because this Wal-Mart didn't sell guns and ammo and that many, many lives were spared due to that single fact?
Another day safe from firearms in America. /sarcasm
(I added that in case it's needed. You never know when the Anti's might show up and think I was serious and that I might give one OUNCE of credibility to bogus bashing, LOL!)
ROFL!!!!
