It's a bad, bad, BAD week to be a liberal! Zarqawi killed, Kennedy cops a plea, Rove gets away, and now this. What else could go wrong?!?

What a tantalizing question! Let's see. SC Justices Ginsburg and Stevens could announce that they're retiring. Hillary could develop Tourette's Syndrome (imagine what she'd have to say about Bill). Castro could drop dead. The citizens of China could revolt against their govt and set up a capitalist republic. Chuck Schumer could develop a terror of cameras and microphones. Sierra Club members could develop an allergy to trees and grass. An American entrepreneur could develop the Mr. Coffee fusion machine shown in Back To The Future Part II, which creates fuel from ordinary househould garbage.

Just for starters.

The strategy will be... paraphrasing....

"the school have a vendetta against him for what he said under his free speech rights and are just using the charges of plagiarism to fire him."

The problem is, a lib university will hire him immediately. He could end up at Yale or Harvard; they sure competed for the Talibal alqaeda guy. Maybe Ward can get them in a bidding war for him.

He can sue, but he broke clear academic rules. And long as they dot all the i's and cross all the t's, in regard to the plagarism, he'll lose.

I think you're right. The commmittee must have had black-and-white, irrefutable evidence in order to recommend his firing. None of the findings had anything to do with his blatant anti-Americanism or his misuse of his professorship to demogogue his captive audience in the classroom.

It's kind of a win-lose situation for us.

If he's fired, we win. But then he becomes a martyr for the left, gets a million dollar book advance and raises his speaking fees to $15,000 per speech.

No Kidding! This is like watching a ring form on a tree... if you could actually see such a thing.

I agree, or they would never have come back with the answer they did.

Okay, that's great. Now all the other universities in our country need to get rid of their excess communist/socialist baggage or lame excuses for professors/associate professors/adjunct professors, etc...

It will be nice to see Churchill join the ranks of the unemployed but there are tens of thousands of other sociopaths just like him in our nation's universities, protected by tenure and union rules. As Ann Coulter says, one way leftists reproduce themselves is through our educational system.

The conclusion one must draw from such examples isn't that every institution has its bad apples but rather that, at least in the liberal arts in America, moral turpitude and political hucksterism pervades higher education.

Radical criminals with questionable academic credentials flourish in a milieu that bristles with hostility toward real scholars who don't toe the party line—witness the case of former Harvard President Lawrence Summers.

Individuals with prison records or FBI rap sheets don't get into major educational institutions because they fudge their resumes.

They get in because they share the political dogmas of those who hire them—and they flourish for the same reason.

Actually, I doubt that he'll keep his position, mainly because his lies about his membership in an Indian tribe have been loudly exposed by the leaders of the tribe (can't recall which one it is), and keeping Churchill on would essentially be delivering a slap in the face to these tribal leaders who are officially-labelled minorities. It is politically incorrect to slap officially-labelled minorities in the face. Investigation has failed to turn up any evidence that Churchill has a drop of non-WhiteEuropean blood, and therefore he is eminently disposable.
