I have been on a modified Fit for LIfe DIet for about 10 years. It is not to lose weight(but often that is the end result). It is an energy management diet. You can prolly get the book at the library. worth reading etc. It made a lot of sense to me & when I went on it, was amazed wtih the results. (lots more energy, slept better, etc)
I am now investigating both the macrobiotic & the Mediterranean diet.
I am NOT Into south beach, Atkins, weight watchers either. Never made sense to me.
I am fortunate to be tall. My 40 extra pounds was surely noticeable but I did have the height to carry it somewhat.
good luck.

On Sunday a friend of mine asked me advice about calories etc and it somehow got through to me that I know all the theory and that I ought to be putting it into practice. Isn't that the truth? We all know HOW to lose weight, but the actually DOING it is the hard part.
I've lost 46 1/2 pounds on Weight Watchers. I can sum up the one plan (they have 2) in two words- eat less. Revolutionary, I know. LOL! Nothing is off limits, but portions are controlled.
BTW, I don't think you look blobby at all! You're pretty in both pictures.

Who's your Bagdaddy???LOL!! I was sitting eating breakfast with my sister in MS yesterday morning when they announced it on the TV news. I was pretty sure they wouldn't announce it while he was still there, but I was concerned for his safety. Every Islamic fanatic within 200 miles would have started heading for the city upon hearing the news!
I'm so proud of our President, and I'm glad he wore the blue tie; it's a very calming color, and doesn't scream "I'm in charge here". Very appropriate.

Hi Dolly!
Hey now, I've been doing WW and have been losing fabulously! It's the only thing that works well for me. I get to eat what I want just less of it. Healthy stuff has less calories so we get to eat more of it. If we want something "bad" we can work it in. BUT, different plans work for different people. Atkins works great for some people, but I didn't care for it. I felt like I wasn't doing anything else but cooking. I have heard good things about Fit for Life, too.

"You can see the emotion in both of them as the President is practically running to meet Maliki." The President was absolutely beaming in that picture. Talk about emotion, I was never more emotional than when I saw the video's and the pictures yesterday.
We are so Blessed to have a such a great President.

I posted abuse on it. It was vulgar..........diametrically opposed to everything that this thread stands for.
And the guy was playing the victim card too. Disgusting.

Laura is everything she seems to be and more. My Aunt served on a committee with her some years ago. She is the genuine article. And stronger praise for the President could not be made than that she is his Lady and he is her Man.
And a Librarian to boot. Someone who can never satiate their appetite for the truth. There are very few ladies who can step up to her level, but she never would act like it to another. I know, I married one.

Go rant on the thousands of other threads. So then, I guess the practice of calling other FReepers in good standing "miserable bastards", and "bit me", is tolerated on these threads, without the chance that someone might dare reply.
Interesting.

Well hello Kit! I think everyone has one plan that works for them. I just didn't like the expense of WW(very tight budget here). Many at our church have had remarkable results with WW.
Most people don't' like Fit for Life as it is a little "weird"
Keep up the good work. Maybe we should have a FR weight loss support group. Once a week new thread, etc.. but alas it would probably be hijacked by the Immigration people!
I have lead a few sessions at my church & also another local church this past year. People do as well as their commitment. I didn't stress any program. We presented them all & encourage all to pick something to be faithful to during the course of the classes.
