The desecration of the Marine Emblem is not the only attack on the Marine Corps.

I ran across this a couple of days ago

Not too sure how or where to Post this so perhaps someone could do it for me?

Thereafter, the Daytona News need to be taken to task and help accountable for having a columnist of his ilk.

Although a search of this paper’s article did not show this particular article as appearing in print or on their site, they should nevertheless be made aware (in the event they are not already) of this slimeball’s lack of character and his bias toward the Military.

Daytona Beach News-Journal Online -- Opinion

"Award winning writer Pierre Tristam's thoughts appear every Tuesday."

THE ARTICLE:

My Lai, Iraq

THE FEW, THE PROUD, THE MURDERERS

By PIERRE TRISTAM

Of course the first line of defense, for those craven enough to defend atrocities just because Americans commit them, is to say that Iraqis do worse. And in fact the U.S. military, after lying about the massacre of 24 Iraqi civilians in Haditha last year, then lying about the number of Iraqis killed, then covering up the massacre until a Time magazine article made it impossible to keep lying, attempted that very line of defense: As Time reported in March, "Lieut. Colonel Michelle Martin-Hing, spokeswoman for the Multi-National Force-Iraq, told Time the involvement of [military investigators] does not mean that a crime occurred. And she says the fault for the civilian deaths lies squarely with the insurgents, who "placed noncombatants in the line of fire as the M! arines responded to defend themselves.'" All lies, of course. There were no insurgents hiding among civilians. There w as no crossfire. The Marines weren't defending themselves. They were out on a rampage, murdering at point-blank leisure, logding bullets in the heads of women and children, My Lai-style. (AN EXCERPT)

thanks for the ping, I wonder if anyone has the time to get this info to one of the Radio hosts. That would really get the word out. I would, but I'm at work right at the moment.

This really angers me. I’m talking cage rattling anger. We have a lot of friends who are in the corps and they are the greatest, my son looks up to them and wants to be one. We have worked with them the last 3 years with the toys for tots, we have gone to the ball, and when a Marine falls, his family is still part of the corps and they attend the ball also. They are not forgotten. And the fact that it was a cartoonist, that M*******F

R. great now all of us will be smeared.
I have designed shirts for the recruiting stations that they sold and given away. I designed a whole line of merchandise for them and they loved it and it was the biggest compliment to me.
Fn terd!

None here. Every day, nearly, a new outrage from a group of people who rely on these very same military forces to maintain their right to publish their pap. Marines now, but all the armed forces get their turn, unfortunately.

It's interesting how this "hack" keeps asserting that the US government is "lying" but offeres no facts of his own...just merely thinks because he "thinks" something...it must be true.

This is idicative of the delusional left...and their willingness to slander the current administration and this nations military at all costs.

Thanks for outing this guy...hopefully, in the fullness of time...he will be dealt with appropriately.

I'm a native Arizonian, and Benson has for years been one of the most disgusting, hateful "cartoonists" ever. When the Israelis bombed the Bekkaa Valley in response to attacks, he drew a cartoon of the Israeli Prime Minister looking like a Japanese dropping bombs yelling "Torah, Torah, Torah."

He's a pathetic toad, and I told his editor so.

Feed Benson to the terrorists. Then let's see him scream for a Marine to save him.

HERE is a leftwing write up of this scuzzbag from Wikipedia

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Benson
________________________________________________________
Steve Benson
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Steve Benson is a Pulitzer Prize-winning U.S. editorial cartoonist for The Arizona Republic. Benson is the grandson of former U.S. Secretary of Agriculture and former LDS church president Ezra Taft Benson.

Benson's more controversial cartoons include one that depicts a firefighter carrying an child from the Oklahoma City bombing similar to a well-known photo of a firefighter's futile rescue of 1-year old Baylee Almon. The child in the cartoon says, "Please, no more killing..." to which the firefighter, labeled "Death Penalty Fanatics," replies, "Quit your whining!" The cartoon, published June 11, 1997, angered some firefighters nationwide. Almon's mother called for Benson to apologize for using the image. Benson, however, stood firm even as his paper issued an apology for printing the cartoon.

Late in 1993, Benson publicly left the LDS Church after claiming that its leadership was covering up his grandfather's senility and allowing church members to believe Ezra Taft Benson was still in charge of the church's day-to-day affairs. Benson self-identifies as an atheist and is often the target of those who advocate ultra-conservative anti-secular views.

Called and told them that maybe Steve should be in Iraq and doing cartoons for the terrorists.
This is truly uncalled for.

Hubby fought in Vietnam and I have two sons that are former Marines and cannot stand that someone uses their freedom of speech like this.

This guy is scum.
