Reporter Paul Wallsten, a leftist reporter, asked the president a question today during the press conference while keeping his sunglasses on.
The president commented on the sunglasses in this exchange:
Bush: You gonna ask your question with shades on?
Bush: But there's no sun out here.
Wallsten: It depends on your perspective.
Daily Kos nutjobs are claiming that Wallsten is blind. Unless it happened recently, I think the nutjobs are just making stuff up (again).
Wallsten is featured on the left of this picture:
I didn't hear the name of the reporter- first thing to find out- is this guy really blind?
I know it; that was not handled well, imo. The leftists would defend THEIR reporters who were gay escorts and say it's a GOOD thing. But we kick ours out. Most unfortunate because he used to ask terrific questions.
What an idiot.
The loony left of America, permanently stuck on stupid.
The guy looks lite in the loafers and needs to get rid of his metrosexual 5 o'clock shadow. What a dork.
Good tactics on GW's part. Even Gregory was surprised when GW first commented on his tie, and Gregory looked down at himself.
Maybe we can suggest to Tony that his credentials get yanked. I'm surprised he was even let in while wearing sunglasses.
He wears his sunglasses at night.
I've never considered the etiquette of sunglasses, but I suppose if they aren't needed and if they are worn in a possibly confrontational situation they could be seen as impolite because they hide one's expression and could be considered intimidating.
Is it Peter Wallsten and not Paul?
I googled his name and don't see anything that says he's blind. He sure doesn't look blind in his picture and most blind people would be wearing sunglasses.
It was a no win situation for the reporter since the sunglasses were covering the mascara and fake lashes underneath.
Chumps like this validate that sage decision.
Wasn't Daily Kos also spreading the rumor a few weeks ago that Rove was being indicted, for sure???
Lefties have a slogan, "why tell the truth, when lies get us what we want?"
blind to truth and deaf to reason. that sums up most of the media jackals.
He should have told the punk to sit down and then moved on to another reporter.
If he was blind .. then why was he holding a note pad and pen
Even when I meet friends outside, I take off my glasses to talk with them.
If this jackass attends the next press briefing, Secretary Snow oughta say, "Where's those cool-looking shades today, Wallsten?"
And ask him at every briefing/gaggle. Again and again.
It is Peter Wellsten. Did I say Paul upthread?
