The president on Wednesday night held his fifth press conference since taking office in January, the fourth in prime time, but he didn’t get a bounce from it as is generally the case. The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll today finds his overall approval rating falling below 50% for the first time.

As the Obama Creep Show continues, the president just gave a very strange address on TV. He stood there, warning of the H1N1 swine flu pandemic, and asked people to cough into their sleeves. He warned that older people may become more ill than younger people. He said that people should be aware of their health. He urged people to get flu vaccine injections. Rasmussen's President approval polls is a rolling three day average, so today's numbers are the first to reflect the full effect of President Obama's press conference on Wednesday. The results are not good for the Commander-in-Chief. The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Sunday shows that 29% of the nation's voters now Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty percent (40%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -11. That’s the first time his ratings have reached double digits in negative territory.

President Obama's fourth primetime press conference since taking office drew 24.7 million viewers across 11 networks on Wednesday night. That's down 14% from the president's last primetime press event. Obama took questions from reporters at the White House about his plan to universalize health care. The networks carrying the press conference were ABC, CBS, NBC, Univision*, Telemundo*, BBC-A, BET, CNBC, CNN, FOX News Channel, and MSNBC. Meanwhile Fox benefited from declining to air the president's news conference, with "So You Think You Can Dance" rising to top the night in the adults 18-49 demographic.

As I looked at my notes about President Obama's press conference on heath care tonight, there was a complete shock at the lies, evasive spin and lack of facts in the answers the President foisted on the American People. Not surprising was the fact that at times, the mainstream media let him get away with murder. The below is a full transcript published by the Washington Post, along with most of my notes. President Obama said on Wednesday that his healthcare monstrosity must be passed without delay, (like every other big spending bill he wants passed) saying that rising costs were the main driver behind his federal deficits. However, he failed to articulate how he would pay for the expansion, in the very same government programs of concern, and failed to make clear how his reform would save money. It won't. The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) says so, and Mr. Obama knows this.

The Fox Network is making a smart business move by passing on tonight's press conference celebrating President Obama's first 100 days in office. Other networks are losing millions of dollars of advertising revenue to air what amounts to an unpaid political ad.

During his White House presser he called Iran's action 'unhelpful'. Is that the strongest language he could come up with? I would suggest he use the term 'intolerable'. He, also, said that Iran getting a nuclear weapon would be 'destabilizing'. No kidding, Barack. Keep talking like that and you will have Mahmoud Ahmadinejad shaking in his boots. Rush nailed it about Obama's rambling press conference last night. Among other things, he compared it to the speeches of Fidel Castro (some of which have gone on for 8 hours!).
