WASHINGTON, June 14 /U.S. Newswire/ -- House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi joined other House Democratic leaders at a press stakeout this morning after the Democratic Caucus meeting to discuss government accountability and congressional oversight. Below are Pelosi's remarks:
"Thank you, Chairman Clyburn. I want to join you in acknowledging the excellent work that the Blue Dog Coalition has done, under the leadership of Mr. Tanner and Mr. Cardoza. Because of the intellectual resource that the Blue Dogs are to our Caucus, the position of no new deficit spending, pay-as-you- go has become the Caucus position for all Democrats in the House, and it is an integral part of our New Direction to take us to fiscal soundness.
"On the first day that Congress comes into session next year, if Democrats are successful at the polls, the first piece of legislation will include our reform package to make it an honest Congress, second, we will do our civility package to make it a bipartisan Congress, and third, we will pass our accountability legislation that will say no new deficit spending, pay-as-you go, and audit the books. I thank the Blue Dogs for their leadership on this.
"Nowhere is the need for a New Direction for America more obvious than in Iraq. Certainly, the most important is the loss of life; we passed 2,500 lives lost, and nearly 20,000 have been injured, half of them permanently. We also face the loss of our reputation in the world and the loss of our strength in terms of our military capability to protect our security.

She does realize that North-by-West-East is no direction, doesn't she? 'Cause they're all over the map. But let them keep running around in circles, passing the same *HealthcareReformSocialSecurityMinimumWageRichGettingRicher* Hotel over and over. You would've thought by now, someone in that caravan of fools would have realized that they're lost.
That pic looks like the Hale-Bopp comet guy..
Yep, that'll pack 'em into the voting booths.
a "Contract with Pelsi".... would you sign it? :\
Pelosi: "Democrats Want to Take America in a New Direction"
It's called Socialism
She was on CNN this afternoon. Wolf let her babble on like a Dim TV ad. She said Dims were much more closely aligned with Rep Murtha, than Hillary.

..Fourth is our Cut and Run and let the Iraqis Degrade Into Chaos So We Can Blaim the Right Legislation...
And what is the program for getting there from here?
Sounds suspiciously like the surrender on the installment plan, much like what went on for years while the US was facing the international Communism "monolith", until Ronald Reagan entered the White House. Only now, the surrender would be to militant Jihadists, and the price for surrender is a permanent state of "dhimmi" to the American caliphate.
If that is true it can only be a good thing. Look at what a horrible job they have done so far. A different direction based on past performance by the Dems can only be good.
Awww please get in the car...We've got CANDY!
Twirling down a toilet is going in a direction most Americans would rather not go.
Nancy - just say NO.
New direction? I'm sorry but we were headed that way for awhile and it didn't work. We'll never go left again on a srtaight road. Only the occasional flat left front tire will head us that way again.
Notice how it sounds like "nude erection".
Yep. A new direction. Straight to Hell.
