Waaay before 9-11. How about since Jefferson!

Actually since before Washington. Millions in ransom was paid from 1784. Jefferson stopped the ransom payments and fought back.

Only difference between the "you must assimilate" mudslimes and the fictitious Borg is the Borg looked better. Ah 7 of 9.

The collision happened years ago however our leaders and MSM are too PC to address it in the manner needed to defeat a hate cult bent upon our total destruction or assimilation. They have no middle ground and we should fight them as such.

America is unquestionably on a collision course with Islamic fundamentalism

Yep. I just hope everyone remembers who drug us to this fight before it's all over.

Rock up.

In its much venerated and often quoted Sura 9:29, the Koran specifically defines those who are not Muslims and live under Muslim rule as "Dhimmis," people who under Islamic law "must surrender to the pacts contracted between non-Muslims and their Muslim conquerors." That concept should absolutely be revisited and revised by Muslim scholars if we are to believe they want peace. The burden of proof of tolerance falls heavily on the nation of Islam.

The author nails this one. It is perfectly possible for the ulema to make such a pronouncement - that is, after all, their function, to interpret Islamic law in the light of modern challenge. The Ottoman empire made such an accommodation, but the new fundamentalist interpretation of Islam rejects the Turkish influence and aims for the days before the Arabs lost control. The Turkish solution to this little problem was to crush the Arabs militarily. It isn't obvious to me that that was an unwise course of action.

It doesn't mean war against all of Islam unless the ulema make it so. They take a genuine physical risk in opposing violent, armed fanatics and we should appreciate that. And many of them actually agree with the fundamentalists, and as long as they do so there will be war because that only takes one side, not two.

What will no longer happen is business "as usual" - that is, a constant encroachment and testing of the boundaries and wild screaming that any reaction on our part is unprovoked aggression, imperialism, colonialism, or whatever other buzzword of the moment might be. That works fine in the press but the fight is moving to the battlefield where it doesn't make the speaker bulletproof. For the U.S. the days of taking it are over, and Islam will either have to recognize that as a whole or be plunged into a real fight that will be much worse than that visualized by scimitar-swinging fantasists. For Europe? Well, for Europe the days of encroachment, subversion, and intimidation are still very much alive.
