Immanuel Kant said a ban on lying is absolute. In general, I think its wrong to lie but under under circumstances, it might be allowable to mislead people. In particular, people who are moral relativists. I don't regard the ACLU as a bunch of honorable people. They're atheists to the core and they approve of more than censorship of Christianity. They advocate the right to believe in atheism, abortion and Marxism. And you want us to be on the level with them? Yeah, right.

So she didn't tell them everything. How did they know she was going to say she believed in Jesus? Through ESP? And liberals tell us they're all above that kind of superstition.

On the TODAY show, June 21, she said that she agreed to give the speech that the administrators had edited.

But, then, she realized, as she was on stage, that she must disobey and speak about Jesus.

She lied to administrators who had given her the privilege to speak in the first place.

What's more, her parents think lying in the name of Jesus is just fine.

What's dumb is telling administrators who have given you a forum to speak that you will give an agreed-upon speech, but, then, you don't give the agreed-upon speech.

I think the gal should have sued the socks off the school district in advance. She had a notice in advance of her case, because the powers that be redacted her speech. She didn't say that was unacceptable, and that I am going to sue your nuts off; she apparently just went up on the stage, and decided to read the redacted portions, without realizing that the powers that be had the turn off the mike card to play. She is a bright girl, and over time, will learn to think through the play of the hand several cards ahead. I hope she becomes a lawyer.

Sorry. I meant under some circumstances. I think its OK to lie to a Nazi, a Communist, a murderer or an ungodly person. Just because we are obligated to tell the truth does not mean its a good idea to be truthful in a certain situation. In general, one should certainly tell the truth but like with everything else in life, there are exceptions to the rule.

Apparently, lying to a group of high school graduates is equivalent to lying to Nazis, communists, murderers, and ungodly people. In your mind.

My generous take is that it was an act of ineffectual civil disobedience. I might have been tempted to do the same myself, albeit with a different but equally discordant message to those who dictate the harmonious, before I became overly facile with the concept of lawsuits and injunctions, which I suspect in the right hands, would have secured just as much publicity as that which the passion play, as it played out, secured. Screw them. But then there was that darn mike thingie. Just darn. Where are strong male lungs when you need them?

So, what you are saying is that you would have no problem with her deviating from the edited version if she had not said anything when they edited it. If instead she just said nothing when informed of the "editing", and then went up and said what she wanted to, without regard to the editing, you wouldn't be the least bit upset. Is that about it?
