Possible White House Hopefuls Unite on Iraq

WASHINGTON — Two potential 2008 presidential candidates appealed Tuesday for the Senate to support their call to withdraw U.S. combat troops from Iraq"by a hard and fast deadline,"a position putting them at odds with most of their fellow Democrats.

"Our country desperately needs a new vision for strengthening our national security, and it starts by redeploying U.S. forces out of Iraq,"Sens. John Kerry of Massachusetts and Russ Feingold of Wisconsin wrote in an e-mail sent to 3 million people nationwide.

"It's time for every member of the Senate to send an important message that we must change course,"the senators wrote, imploring recipients to"take a stand against the senseless'stay the course'Bush policy"and tell their senators to vote with the two Democrats.

In what promises to be a highly partisan election-year showdown Wednesday, the GOP-controlled Senate plans to take up the proposal by Kerry and Feingold that would require the Bush administration to withdraw all combat troops from Iraq by July 1, 2007. Redeployment would begin immediately, under the proposal.

At least six other Democrats have publicly or privately indicated support for that position in recent days. The Senate will vote on the proposal by week's end.

The Senate also will consider, and eventually vote on, a separate nonbinding resolution that has the backing of Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., and, his aides say, a majority of Democrats.

You could picket that idiot without ever using a marking pen. White flags and blank slates say it all.

The Kerry and Feingold email, and Senate debate of a resolution to leave Iraq highlight effeminate, spiritless and typical behavior for this nation, because the United States has a well-deserved reputation for abandoning countries at strategic moments or in desperate plight. During the Cold War a few examples would be crises in Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Guatemala, Cuba, and Lebanon. More recently consider our apathy towards Somalia, Rwanda, Uganda, and Sudan. The Muslims of the Salafi/Wahhabi heresy remember our failure to defend the sovereignty of our Iranian embassy, and subsequent lethargic responses to 15 major terrorist attacks under four presidents. They understand our affection for debating foreign policy models, until we escape commitment within elegant meanings for necessity, proportional response, multi-lateralism, and exit strategy. The self-congratulatory righteousness achieved is accurately perceived by those relying on us as turning a blind eye, agonizing over their losses from afar, or cutting and running.

We cannot use the words timeline, deadline, or exit strategy when those are code words for the type of actions mentioned above, and those words define us as a dysfunctional ally. The plan for withdrawal must be keyed to a pragmatic evaluation of events. All statements must emphasize that when Iraqi and U.S. governments agree certain conditions exist the disengagement proceeds to the next step. Only in this way can the Salafi/Wahhabi jihadists understand we intend to persevere in this generational conflict against them

At least these two guys are being true to themselves.

Kerry, the flip flopper, flips again.

Feingold, the pacifists, pacifys and encourages the enemy, again.

The Axis of Weasels strikes again!! Wow, does this mean they might only lose by around 91-8 this time??? John "Vichy" Kerry striving yet again to give maximum "aid and comfort" to the enemies of civilization. As long as they don't get anywhere near 50-50 in the Senate this is mostly a bonus for the country - it shows once again what total weasel losers people like Kerry are and doesn't actually have a chance of being regarded as a serious proposal. Kerry and Feingold can pander to their moonbats all they want but they will never win the Presidency as the candidate of the Kos-morons.

All one really needs to know about Kerry is he...

still will not acknowledge his antiwar activities kept hope alive for the N. Viets and Viet Cong, even though one of their generals said as much in him memoirs and

still believes there is little if any relationship between the US departure from SE Asia and the killing fields of Cambodia.

At first, I misread the title and thought it said, "...White House hopefuls unite IN Iraq". Boy that would have been a MUST READ. I'm somewhat disappointed.

"I wish it was back in the 19th century and the citizens could simply grab their arms, form a committee of vigilance, and take matters into their own hands. Our system is irrevocably broken to be allowing this open treason and cowardice go unanswered and unpunished, IMO."

I was thinking something more in the fashion of torches and pitchforks.
