WBAL News has learned that Doug Duncan is dropping out of the governor's race.

The Montgomery County executive has called a 2pm news conference to talk about the future of his campaign.

Multiple sources tell WBAL he will announce he is withdrawing from the race, and will say his decision is based on health concerns.

The Baltimore Sun's annoited candidate, Baltimore Mayor Martin O'Malley, looks like he will get a free ride to the Dem nomination.

I heard about it on the radio, so I went to their web site. The Sun did not have anything posted when I looked so I went with the WBAL story.

No hard feelings! Great minds and all that... ;-)

'Rep. Albert Wynn, D-Md., who endorsed Duncan, said the candidate called him this morning to say he was dropping out. Wynn said Duncan told him he was making the decision because he had been diagnosed with clinical depression.'

You can only wonder what the real cause of Doug's depression is. What skeleton in his closet was he threatened with having the Balto Scum feature on it's front page above the fold.

Not sure where Duncan's "clinical depression" came from, but I sent the story to a friend who has some connections. I will let everyone know if I can come up with anything.

In 2001, O'Malley stepped aside since it was KKT's turn. This time, I guess the state Dem party leaders let Duncan know that it was O'Malley's turn. Duncan is a liberal, but a good county executive. Not much in O'Malley's Baltimore is running well. Poor Maryland if he wins in the fall.

I left Montgomery County MD years ago to escape the libs. Still, it's a good thing this clown to be dropping out, about the last person they needed for Governor.

"Not much in O'Malley's Baltimore is running well."

You are being far too kind.

O'Malley was on TV this morning pooh-poohing the census report showing Baltimore to be one of the fastest shrinking cities in the country. As I sat there drinking my coffee, I wondered of O'Malley had too much caffeine since he seemed giddy. He must have heard about Duncan dropping already.

I thought the EXACT same thing. No way Duncan drops out this suddenly unless somebody was about to drop a bomb on him. There are some nasty, nasty people working with Martin O'Malley, as we all know.

True. Clarksburg and the building permit violations scandal? There are probably others, too. Interesting ties to big business too who get "special favors". I won't mention any names...

As far as Duncan's "clinical depression" is concerned, I think living in Montgomery County could make anyone depressed.

Baltimore, where Pelosi learned about crooked democrat machine politics before moving to the Bay Area to add the sodomite agenda to her base values.

Clinical depression is treatable.

Yes, but a Ft. Marcy Park headache is not.

Actually, I think it is more likely that his "depression" is from learning that the Baltimore Sun Pravda has the dirt on a juicy scandal that could torpedo his political career if he continues to go against their boy.

Doug's problem is diagnosed

Confirming Ann Coulter's thesis that victimhood prevents criticism, I have already heard an outraged caller to Baltimore's Ron Smith show claim (practically scream) that no one but a medical doctor can comment on the situation at all.
