He was right about the talking heads. A pox on all of them, of every ideological persuasion. I have no use for them.

He also threw in the line-"present company included," which was a direct shot at his interviewer. That was apparently edited out of this story.

...he said, "You can turn on the idiots rambling on, on cable television, every night of the week -- and they say musicians shouldn’t speak up? It’s insane, it’s funny," he said, laughing.

What a vain, ignorant thing to say. Who's saying he shouldn't speak up?
I'm glad he speaks up; I get to save my music budget for people who don't obviously hate my country so much.

Hey, wait a minute, I'm a Springsteen fan.

I like both of his notes.

He revealed that some former fans have mailed records back to him.

If I had ever wasted a dollar of any of his inharmonious mumblings, I'd rather mail him back the ashes.

Bruce Springsteen performs with the Seeger Sessions Band in Mansfield, Massachusetts, May 27, 2006. In Springsteen's new album of songs associated with legendary folk singer Pete Seeger, many of the characters are barely getting by. And then their spirit often is tested and nearly broken by natural, social or political forces beyond their control. (William B. Plowman/Reuters)

These fools, including Springsteen, who are lionizing Seeger are pathetic. Seeger was and still is an unreconstructed Stalinist. He was a card carrying communist when with the Weavers. He took American Folk music and by rewording parts of it used it for CPUSA propaganda. To this day he has never acknowledged the horror, or even the failure of Stalin.

You call him a Fondaite. He was and is so much worse. Fonda is an idiot looking for a cause to champion. Seeger was and is a dedicated enemy of this nation and its way of life.

Does he still do concerts, and if so, why hasn't he suffered the Dixie Chicks' fate with his blue-collar fans?

I was recently reading that Springsteen concert tickets were going for over $300 face value. His supposed audience of blue collar fans can't afford to go to one of his concerts. His latest concert is not selling out because the only people who can afford it are the elitist snobs who really don't like his music anyway.

Ah, the Boss, truly one of the great screamers of our time.

I always believed that Springstein and Bono should stage a Wail Off with the ticket proceeds earmarked for charity.

Bought one of his recent albums. If he ever had "it", he has it no more.

"I know someone who went to one of his shows in Milwaukee last week and the venue had thousands of empty seats."

In Des Moines, he sold about 5,500 seats; in a 16,000 seat arena.
I don't know if that was above or below expectations.

Obviously a far cry from the 80's. In fairness to him he isn't aiming for 80's size crowds.
It amazes me how stupid entertainers look when they try to speak about politics.
The smart ones just keep their mouths shut.

Does Ann pay all these Coulter-obsessed liberals? Does she give them kickbacks for helping to sell her books by invoking her name, again and again, on national TV and in angry syndicated columns? Or they do it for free?

I think I'd hate his music even if he was a conservative. I hate how he keeps his teeth gritted when he sings. It's like listening to McCain sing.

Baby, I was born to run.

Never could understand the appeal of Springsteen. Living in the Philly/South jersey area my opinion is not very popular. So what, the guy has never been a talent to me.

So Bruce, for those that may appreciate you, shutup and play!

Who's Pete Seeger? What's a rocker? Who's Bruce Springsteen?

Should I know this?

Should I care?

>"In the documentary "Hail, Hail Rock 'n' Roll", Keith Richard came off as an articulate genius next to Springsteen."

Did ya catch the daggers outta Keiths eyes, when slop guitarists Berry was lecturing him on the difference between a down bend and an up bend chord?

Like it really matters a hill Chuck, only muscians would know the difference, and like Keith most of them wouldn't care. Stairway to Heaven, Chucks tunes arent!
