Murtha says what other Democrats and the MSM only dare to think.
---
You're right. All the Democratic leadership believe this,

Murtha just made the mistake of saying it in front of a microphone instead of behind closed doors. Will the Dems and the media try and ride this out or will they disassociate themselves from this comment?

Murtha as war critic is one thing. Saying the US is more dangerous then Iran and NKorea are signs of a seriouly disturbed person.

If you listened to Murtha in detail in the past, you saw a man who frequently rambles with stories of how our military is evil and mistreats its soldiers. He packages it as if he is standing up for his constuents' rights, which is fine. But he takes anecdotal occurences such as a soldier not technically qualifying for a medal, and makes it sound like the US military hates its soldiers. In short, he has been a leftist kook for a long time.

Murtha is, in essence, a Pelosi clone.

Murtha also has publicly said that the shooting of 24 Iraqis in November at Haditha, a city in the Anbar province of western Iraq that has been plagued by insurgents, was wrongfully covered up.The killings, which sparked an investigation into the deadly encounter and another into whether they were the subject of a cover-up, could undermine U.S. efforts in Iraq more than the prison abuse scandal at Abu Ghraib in 2004, Murtha said.

Wonder if an article on this speech will show up in the Johnstown Tribune-Democrat (from the name, it doesn't sound promising). Regardless, I'm sending them this article. Johnstown-area Freepers might want to do a little agitating for coverage in that paper so that voters know what kind of man Murta is.

Can't we redeploy him to Okinawa? (Since he's so fond of the place...)

"Murtha says" is not news.

Call me when Murther can no longer say anything.

That will be news. Good news!

I believe that Murtha will be used as cover for democrats (such as Hillary) who have been against the party line on the war as presented in DU and Kos. To bless these candidates for the hard left of their party, Murtha will give them cover for their Iraq views. He will be a beard for the demonrats.

Originally, it seemed likeliest that Murtha had been tapped by Pelosi as someone in a safe district who could try out the strong anti-war line and see how it played, but this is way over that line.

The votes in Congress have been held and the 'critters' have taken whatever positions they need to take for their re-election campaigns. That Murtha continues to go on this way says that he really believes this stuff, or is enjoying his new fame and is canny enough to know what he has to say to keep it going. Either way we can say two things for sure:

1) He is a loose cannon for the dems at large, many of whom will be harmed if their party is seen as out-and-out anti-war.

2) He is hurting his own re-election campaign. Probably not enough to lose, but maybe enough to make it close, which would make the dems situation (between their anti-war base and the independant voters who decide elections) even worse.

Very interesting situation.

Vice-President Cheney considers Murtha a friend. Even so, he has publicly corrected the imbecile. Let's hope the voters hear him.

Murtha has been in Washington way to long. Does he really believe the crap he spews?! When I see his mug on TV I see a man who hasn't heard the word NO in a long time. I am sick of royalty in politics!

Rove and Limbaugh keep reminding Republicans that if they give Democrats enough time and opportunity, they will destroy their own political chances.

Time to put Murtha on baby food and diapers.

No surprise here - just another Democrat traitor.

Murtha's phone number is 800-289-2642 or 814-535-2642 or 202-225-2065. Be polite, but let your views be made known. I think the first one is for PA residents. The last number has a full mailbox, so will call that one tomorrow. Do not know about the 814 number.

Murtha has just triggered his own political suicide bomb.

I doubt it. The left loves this kind of talk and he knows it.

I'd be banned in my first 24 hours if I offered up the trigger that Murtha deserves.
