BRIDGEPORT'S COKEHEAD MAYOR (pardon me for mentioning it, but he broke the law)
NY POST ^ | 6/26/06 | EDITORIAL

Posted on 06/26/2006 6:19:45 AM PDT by Liz

John Fabrizi thinks he deserves a big pat on the back for having belatedly confessed that he's been a substance abuser......Fabrizi confessed to having used cocaine and abused alcohol since taking office April 2003..... he insists, his substance-abuse problem "never, ever affected my job performance."

Of course, Fabrizi isn't exactly the best judge of how true that last statement really is.

Fabrizi's decision to come clean wasn't prompted by any remorse or pangs of conscience: He had little choice but to admit the truth after a prosecutor inadvertently released the transcript of a wiretap in which an alleged cocaine dealer claimed he was solicited for drugs for Fabrizi.

Fabrizi owes it to his constituents to resign and then, if he so chooses, to seek re-election. Whether he remains in office should be up to the voters he betrayed - and not up to Fabrizi himself.

The Mayor forgot to mention he broke federal laws. Just an oversight.

Another ugly question raises itself----stuffing cocaine up his nose can get pretty expensive. Where did Fabrizi get the money to subsidize his habit?

Golly, I hope it wasn't anything real naughty (/sarc)---like dipping into the Bridgeport Treasury----or taking envelopes under the table----or handing out rigged, overpriced city contracts to his cronies (with kickbacks written into faked bloated budgets).

Cocaine is God's way of telling you that you have too much money.

First off, he admitted it. This means that either:

the press had already found out and was about to break the story,
the authorities found out and were investigating,
his political foes found out and were going to leak it,
the wife found out and laid down an ultimatum,
or he was advised to admit it, knowing that the voters will forgive him if he admits it himself, rather than have to answer allegations.

the reason for the admission was pretty well stated in paragraph 3 of the excerpt.

Ah, I guess I shoudl have re-read it. Oh well. I wonder how "inadvertent" the release of the transcript was...?

When I read the word "inadvertant", I immediately translated it into "on purpose with plausible deniability".

Hey I say let him be nobody in their right mind would want to be mayor of that hellhole. Sure is great what uninterupted control by the demo/socialists can do for a city.

I'll take number two for $500, Alex.

From the NY POST----Fabrizi had little choice but to admit the truth after a prosecutor inadvertently released the transcript of a wiretap in which an alleged cocaine dealer claimed he was solicited for drugs for Fabrizi.

Got that?

"Inadvertently" released the tape (snicker).

......still the same city as in 1997, when it was listed as the last place seen for three out of ten of the FBI's Ten Most Wanted.....

Must be the nice weather, and access to the beach.

Anyone wonder why his party affiliation isn't included in the first paragraph? If there was an (R) following his name, it sure would have been there!
