if the devil can mess up Jacob, maybe the Big Guy upstairs - who, after all, does work in mysterious ways - can still pull out a miracle on Tuesday. Let us pray…

Yes the Lord does work in mysterious ways, although why would the Lord bring an election miracle to a person who thinks his petty adversity(i.e not being able to raise campaign funds) is on par with those who suffer through real and adversity, such as a victim of violent crime, and seems to think that satan is more powerful than the Lord.

Is it illegal to give money to an immigrant family?

Somehow I doubt that.

I think we're better-off with a 98% ACU rating than a nut. Go Chris!

We all missed you Dane.

All this article shows is that Jacob man be a smart businessman, he's a novice at the art of running for office.

Will the voters hold that against him more than they hold Cannons voting record
against Cannon? We will see.

By the way have you had a chance to look at Cannons voting record on immigration posted by Spiff?

I hope Cannon is defeated, so that I can mock you.

No, I have no other dog in this fight.

Dane, who was it that once said the hen was the wisest of all creatures because it at least waited until the egg was laid before cackling? You and your pal Chuck Moth might want to take that advice. Cannon may indeed win tomorrow, then again he could lose. Several polls out today show the race tightening so it's not a done deal by a long shot.

Cannon's atrocious voting record:

Cannon's voting record also demonstrates an anti-sovereignty, pro-globalist agenda:

Dane, even the author of this article concedes that Cannon should be voted out of office. He just believes that Jacob isn't the man to do it. But it does reveal that Cannon is unpopular in his district.

More dopes piling on Jacob for believing in the reality of Satan.

I swear, some "conservatives" relish moments like this because they can go along with the anti-religious prejudices of the liberals. They were never popular and pile on ridicule in the hope that someone will like them. Pathetic.

...Jacob had unlawfully given money to an immigrant family....

...Jacob’s “gambling problem”...

...Jacob had been telling audiences that 40 percent of prisoners in the Central Utah Correctional Facility were illegal aliens. This week, he had to admit that it was only 8 percent...

...Jacob is thinking that illegals who can prove they’ve been in the U.S. for 10 or 20 years would return to the their home country and obtain a FastPass which would put them at the front of the immigration line and allow them to return to the U.S. legally....

Most of these IMO are a matter of interpretation and spin, and not scandalous per se. But all paint a picture that Jacob's not the sharpest knife in the drawer when it comes to handling the press. And then he claims Satan is to blame...

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Feb 9, 2005

NCLR TO HONOR DEMOCRAT SENATOR CHRISTOPHER DODD, CONGRESSMAN CHRIS CANNON, AND THE LLANO GRANDE CENTER AT 2005 CAPITAL AWARDS GALA

Washington, DC – The National Council of La Raza (NCLR), the largest national Hispanic civil rights and advocacy organization in the U.S., will hold its 2005 Capital Awards Dinner at the National Building Museum in Washington, DC on Tuesday, March 8. At this year’s annual gala, NCLR will honor Senator Christopher Dodd (D-CT) and Congressman Chris Cannon (R-UT) for their leadership on legislation that has had a significant impact on the Hispanic community, and the Llano Grande Center for Research and Development – a community-based organization located in Elsa, Texas – for providing education and youth leadership programs along the Texas-Mexico border.

“Senator Dodd is one of the most loyal and committed supporters of the Latino community,” said Janet Murguia, NCLR President and CEO. “He has worked tirelessly to protect the civil rights of all Americans and has been a champion for early child education, leading the debate to expand the Head Start program and provide universal access to preschool.”

Murguia continued, “NCLR is also pleased to honor Representative Cannon, who, despite pressure from extremist anti-immigrant forces, has fought resolutely for comprehensive immigration reform. We commend Congressman Cannon especially for his work as chief House sponsor of the ‘Dream Act.’ If passed, the ‘Dream Act’ would open the doors to college for the children of undocumented immigrants – many of whom have lived in the U.S. their entire lives, excelled, and even become honor roll students in their U.S. high schools.”

NCLR will also present the Public Service Award to the Llano Grande Center for Research and Development for its success in building strong leaders in south Texas. “NCLR is proud to highlight the amazing work of the Llano Grande Center, which has placed more than 50 students in Ivy League universities since 1993,” said Murguia. “Its outstanding programs are models for other immigrant communities throughout the country.”

Sonia Manzano, acclaimed for her work as “Maria” on Sesame Street, will serve as Master of Ceremonies at the gala event, and entertainment will include a performance by Latin Jazz All-Stars. Citigroup is the Chair sponsor for the event, and the Fannie Mae Foundation and Frito- Lay, Inc./PepsiCo Inc. are the Vice Chairs.

For tickets and table information, please contact Fernanda Tilleria at (800) 311-NCLR. Members of the media interested in attending should contact Alexandra Jost at (202) 785-1670.

It's a very dumb remark, but in the most fervently Mormon area in the nation, it might not single-handedly sink Jacob's campaign.

In any event, Chris Cannon is opposed to national sovereignty. He deserves to lose, Jacob's really dumb remark notwithstanding.

Blaming Satan is not a good way to gain a majority of voters to punch your ticket.

First came the story about how Jacob had unlawfully given money to an immigrant family.

So now Chuck is reduced to propagating lying spin for Chris Cannon?

Makes a guy wonder if he isn't on Cannon's payroll again.

What?

Y'all didn't know that the writer of this piece was once on Chris Cannon's payroll?

Dang...kinda changes the picture a little, doesn't it...
