Exactly. You have the Patsies (Buchananites) who are the Silly Party.
But soon we will be into "Arthur Peter Brown Telescope Adrian Blackpool Rock Stoat-Gobbler John Raw Vegetable (whwhwhwhwhuh) Norman Michael (ding ding ding) (tweeet!) Edward (Honk, honk) 'Shubiddy shubiddy shubiddy' (low honk) Thomas 'Oh, we'll keep a welcome in' (BANG!) Williams (rising whis- tle) 'Rain-drops keep falling on my' (whing!) 'Don't sleep in the subway' (Cuckoo cuckoo) nyeuueneuhuenhuh Smith" territory.
The very silly party.
We know it as the CP.
I won't happen, as it is hard to fire up moderates for such a big task as unseating an incumbent. If there are conservatives with conviction and personal motivation, that is one story, but once you get out of the right or left, such grassroots motivation is not there.
For instance, I seem to recall you (I'm not 100% sure it was you but I'm almost positive) touting a moderate group in Texas several years ago whose motivation was to remove Ron Paul in his primary. It ddidn't work then and it won't in the future.
You say that like it's a bad thing. Wouldn't you agree that we'd be a lot better off with a lot more guys who write articles like this?
I've known CWOJackson for long enough that I can assure you that he does not agree with you that the Smurf guy was "right on the drug issue". :-)
Well, if he were running for a seat in the Parliament of op-ed writers, that would be true, but as a Congressman, he actually has to do Congressman-type stuff, not write a bunch of articles.
There's a huge difference between Paul and Tancredo. While Paul has been a maverick in DC he hasn't crossed the line in actively campaigning against his peers. Whether he directly participated or not, through bay buchanan and his PAC, Tancredo has crossed that line. Grassroots motivation is nothing compared to the motivation of party bosses when people jump the reservation. If Tancredo keeps allowing the buchanan's to use him, particularly in this fashion, he'll learn a very painful lesson in real politics...one he needs to look no further then pat and bay to see.
