A German businessman has founded an airline dedicated to smokers.
Smintair, or Smokers' International Airways, aims to cater for smokers who feel excluded in an age when all major airlines have banned the habit.
A Dusseldorf-Tokyo service is due to begin in October and is expected to serve mainly Japanese businessmen.
Smintair's founder, Alexander Schoppmann, a 30-a-day man, said: "There are no laws banning smoking on board. The airlines have made these rules themselves because no-smoking planes are cheaper. It means you don't have to change the air filter system so regularly."
That stuff's all good, too, but compared to having your liberty respected? Give me a break! And I don't even smoke.
I know, that's the one I'm waiting for too. I'd even fly that one in preference to the smoking one. Problem is federal regulations requiring all that crap. Would probably have to structure the airline as a charter to get around the regs, but I'll bet enough people would fly it that "charters" might be available to any given destination as often as regular commercial flights.

I don't see why a waiver would even be necessary, given that being on that flight would probably be safer than than fluing on pussy-air (but I'd sign it anyway).

I fly Tarom (Romanian Airlines) once or twice a year. They still allow smoking in all sections. I was quite surprised the first time I flew out of Bucharest about five years ago. I had packed my cigarettes in my luggage, thinking I wouldn't be able to use them. As soon as we reached altitude, everyone lit up............I bummed one from the passenger next to me. His comment? "You crazy Americans!"
And how about a FASCIST check as well?? heh!
Just an FYI to you: I recently had several chest x-rays and a cat scan. Both clear as a bell.
Plus, several checks by the Doctor with a stethoscope. Lungs are clear as a bell and heart is strong. So, where is your argument now little boy?!
I sure hope you aren't obese. Because the airlines are now charging for TWO seats for obese people. Could you be one of those??? hmmmmm??????

Sure is, considering that smoking places are becoming fewer and fewer.........
