It is very sad indeed that black Americans are sadled with "leaders" such as these.

I suspect many of this ethnicity are not fooled by them any longer and that this may backfire on them.

He uses more Scripture than any preacher I've ever seen. It wouldn't hurt the Reverends Jackson and Sharpton to open the Bible themselves once in a while!

Good point. I've NEVER heard either of those losers quote scripture even once!

Come on back to the Plantation, brothers and sisters! The old Colonel promises he'll treat you right this time.

Prominent black leaders said they will work to combat Christian conservatives they say have used gay marriage and abortion to distract from larger moral issues such as the war, voting rights, affirmative action and poverty.

LOL. Bring it on, Jesse and Albert.

David said to the Philistine, "You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the LORD Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied."

I see.

So these so called "Christians" are targeting Christians for mobilizing to support politicians that promote their values?

Who's priorities are really out of whack here Jesse? People like yourself that mobilize to elect people that let you sit at a power table but promote policies that keep black people dependent, in poverty, uneducated in broken families...or those that will support people that promote Life, father/mother intact familial unit, low taxes, liberty and freedom of religion?

People like Jesse and Al make me sick. They are politicians. They place political life above their Christian life, and invite suspicion about the sincerity of their religious convictions.

"Black leaders plan to protest against Christian conservatives "

"The Revs. Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and Joseph Lowery and hundreds of black leaders from around the country are focusing on mobilizing black voters for the fall elections ... [T]hey will work to combat Christian conservatives they say have used gay marriage and abortion to distract from larger moral issues such as the war, voting rights, affirmative action and poverty."

This is about as dumb a strategy as I've ever heard. Dems already get 95% of the black vote, so they're going to invest all this effort to get 96%? Sometimes I think that black liberals are so dumb they validate the "Bell Curve."

Dolllar for dollar, they are better off investing in more voter fraud. It will yield better results. Can't beat those 105-110% turnouts in all black precincts!

This could, of course, be a defensive effort to keep more blacks from defecting. That is probably the true reason. But you won't hear the media reporting on that point.

A spokeswoman for the Democratic National Committee said Democrats are not taking black voters for granted. The committee has been hiring black organizers, meeting with black leaders and speaking out on issues that concern black voters, she said.

They are ever so good at "speaking out", and spinning, and pitching a dollar to get a vote, but miserable at actually doing anything worthwhile.

I pray for more eyes to be opened to this absolute racket of lies and deception that perpetuates the culture of ignorance and poverty that the Dems have been promising to remedy for all of my lifetime.

What is the percentage of abortions in America being done on black women?

Dr. Alveda King, the niece of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., notes that abortion has disproportionately affected the black community. While black women constitute about 13% of the childbearing population, they have over one-third of the abortions. The abortion rate of black women is three times higher than that of white women and 60% of African-American women who become pregnant will have an abortion. More than 14 million abortions have been done on black women and abortion businesses are frequently located in minority communities.

Let them do it. They are alienating more and more of the black voters. Quite a few of the Christian blacks at my congregation voted for Bush this last election, and they are tired of the tactics of Sharpton and Jackson. ANd a few of them were for the Social Security reform and vouchers for schooling. None of the issues these 2 are talking about were some that they were concerned with, so I say keep it coming.

They're going to have to work very hard for the crumbs that their Democrat Party overseers will toss to them.
