Seems like the Chicks are doing a lot of gigs in Canada. LOL.

Like Cindy Sheehan, it seems like the Chicks have to take their act outside of the country to find an audience. Maybe the Chicks should ask Cindy what cities in foreign countries dig moonbats.

"Strong words from Reba! Always a Lady, even when angry. :)"

The Dixie Chicks wouldn't have hatched if Reba hadn't been on the scene first. Reba, among a few other female C&W women, helped pave the way for acts like the Dixie Chicks.

Earlier I read the thread about the WWII airmens' remains that were discovered in 2002 being returned for burial. These men died in their 20's. One of them was from a town not far from where I live.
The dixie chicks will never understand the emotions I felt about that.
I actually feel sorry for them, stupid and ignorant is no way to go through life.

That is not my read at all, so she gets no credit. I believe that she actually thought that her comments would be welcomed as daring and edgy. Self-absorbed people think that way. I think the anti-patriotism reaction would have died down somewhat, but they kept it up AND basically said "up yours" to their fan base.

I will bet my last dollar she would take back the comments for the crass materialism any day.

If the Ditsy Twits were any stupider, they'd live on a windowsill and get watered every other day.

I didn't know Martina McBride was a liberal broad. That's a shame. I'd rather listen to Reba and Toby andd Charlie and other PATRIOTIC country singers than unpatriotic little tramps like the Dixie b*****s and McBride. Martina better watch hers or her career will tank like those other gals.

Reba is AWESOME. If the Dixie Chicks and Martina McBride really think they can win a p*****g contest with her, they're disconnected from reality. She was selling out concerts and getting platinum albums before they were done growing into t-shirts and blouses. They will lose this battle.

Reba is a very, very classy, talented LADY. She along with Jo Dee Messina (who also supports our troops) are my 2 favorite country singers.

For Pete's sake. Martie Maguire, how did I get Martina McBride out of THAT!?!?!? I need food. I am obviously too hungry to be here if I misread that name. :) Nite everyone.

That is not my read at all, so she gets no credit.

I always credit liberals who speak their beliefs, no matter how they thought they'd be received. It allows us to identify them sooner.

I've been around long enough to recognize that "honesty is the best policy" -- if not always the most profitable short-term. I commend honesty in liberals: it's generally rare enough, I'd like to see more of it.

"honest reply" yeah sure man, it is honest, in that she believes it. If you believe it, along with that drivel you added, than hey...your honest too. But that is really not the point is it?

I think Dr. Kervorkian is expecting a call from the flimsy pricks real soon.

That's exactly what I think too. Backfired on them BIGTIME. The funny thing is, if they had just kept their mouths shut after the inital comments in 2003, it probably would have just blown over. But they had to just keep gassing up the fire. Serves them right.

And she was GREAT in Tremors!

That was my hubby's first comment.

I just saw her on our local PBS station in a concert of music from South Pacific (warning: Alec Baldwin is also in this production). She was terrific as Nellie.

Not only that but the new fans they are courting are always the fickle type. That is, hot on someone and two months later they have a new idol. Whereas, country fans are fans for life. They really blew it on this one. I know country fans that still love Eddy Arnold and Marty Robbins even though they have been gone for quite awhile.

Are you sure about Martina McBride? She's pretty close to Sean Hannity (she was one of the performers on last year's Freedom Concert Tour that he hosted for the fallen soldier's children's fund). Sean also uses her "Independence Day" song as his theme music for his radio show (I think it would gross him out too much to use a liberal's song as he's such a purist).

If you haven't already, check out Sara Evans. Good music, beautiful voice & conservative too.

What did I miss? How do we know that Martina McBride is a liberal?
