What on earth is Bush thinking with this appointment?
There HAD to be somebody with some basic decency available for the job.

For some reason I can never shake the feeling of the "Washington Prowler" being a conservative Stephen Glass.

Or George Neumayr.
I haven't seen anything new from George this year, and George is as good as it gets for political commentary.

I watched some of these hearings. This guy is the real deal, he's brilliant and pro tax cut all the way.

The hearings don't always paint the whole picture. He might be just towing the White House party line on tax policy. That's his job, really.

I'd rather have a genuine true believer, however, than someone going through the motions as this piece seems to contrast with your characterization of the hearings.

This report is the exact opposite of what I saw. Find the trancripts of his questioning by Olympia Snowe.
