I need some sewing advice. I have bought several blouses on sale that have shoulder pads. I have laundered a few in net bags but the shoulder pads have still disintegrated. I'm not sure what to do to save the new blouses that I have not yet laundered. The shoulder pads are each tacked to the blouse in 2 places. I'm thinking I can sew snaps where they are tacked to the blouse or some velcro. The blouses are all a light-weight rayon/polyester blend. The shoulder pads are all made from the same fabric as the blouse with a thin sheet of foam inside. I think the foam is twisting inside the fabic "envelope". I have had this happen on some other blouses and have been able to straighten the foam out, but the last 2 new ones I washed, this didn't work so well. Any suggestions?

Hi PAL. Can you just remove the shoulder pads? Would the blouses still look okay without them? Usually I just end up removing them.

I like the velcro idea, PAL.
