When my husband and I tuned into he race, Cheney was walking onto the stage and I saw Gordon applauding........FWIW.
Yes. Deliberate. They surely had a number of other photos that were snapped.
Who's the guy in upper right wearing the red uniform? He's the only one in the pic without his hand over his heart
Cheney/Ashcroft would make the left jump off a bridge.
Mike Wallace on of Rusty Wallace's brothers.
They are all pretty pro American so I wouldn't read much into it, it could be just the timing of the photo.

During a pre-race sit-down interview with Jeff Gordon several years ago on Fox, he was asked to answer questions in a lightning format. You know, the what-best-describes-you type question, like blondes-brunettes, scrambled-fried, baseball-football etc.
When asked Republican-Democrat, he answered "Democrat".
I doubt that Jeff Gordon was one of the applauders.
Gordon is a Democrat.
lol. I am sure that he clapped. When President Clinton came to the USS EISENHOWER, when he said something that everyone clapped for, I clapped too. I mean you have to support the title at the very least. I am Republican but would not diss a democratic President ever. I think that is just plain disrespectful.
When AlGore was VP he came to a Braves game and was booed.
Just got settled in after the weekend and saw this on Drudge. What a biased p.o.s. of an article. Sucks.
Jeff's neither gay nor a demonrat.
He's a very conservative and religious man. I've followed him for his entire career and I've NEVER seen himself declare his politics. If you watched the pre-race last night you would have seen Jeff standing to VP Cheney's right side and applauding the remarks as all the drivers did.
