LE BOURGET, France Thousands of Iranians from across Europe gathered here in support of the National Council of Resistance of Iran and its leader, Maryam Rajavi, who was recently freed from French judicial restrictions that had limited her movement . . . Rajavi's message Saturday to the crowd of 10,000 or more just outside Paris was that Iran needed neither nuclear weapons nor nuclear power but rather secular democracy . . . The national council, which Maryam Rajavi heads, has been declared a terrorist organization by the United States because of the violent tactics of its military arm . . . More women than men support Rajavi "because of the misogynist character of the Iranian regime," a woman at the meeting said . . . She dismissed talk of the organization's dark side, blaming the mullahs in Iran for misinformation.

I couldn't believe that. After all, aren't we, supposedly, looking for groups to oppose the mullahs??

Wouldn't matter if there were 10 million protesting. If they ain't denigrating George Bush, they ain't "real" protesters.

The French should have kept the chains on this trollop. The National Council of Resistance of Iran is a front organization for "People's Mujahedin of Iran" which is a mixture of Marxism and Islam. Her and her husband have been playing this game for a long time.

Then if our other Iranian "assets" don't want Rajavi running a secular government there, maybe they should get friendly with the idea of working with our US forces to get the job done. ;-) Rajavi and co. claim that they're "not very religious," too.

Right. They make a lot of claims and many of them sound very good (secular government, free economy, etc). But their actions say otherwise. I think they push a fake platform in an effort to gain support from America. It's worked with some in Congress. Saddam was their largest contributor right up until we threw him out.
They're Leftist Marxist Muslim lunatics. To replace the current thugs with them wouldn't be a gain, and it might even be worse.
