Prediction: Lieberman will win the Dem nomination handily. The Daily Kos is overreaching once again. Lamont will go down big time. That said, I could care less who is nominated on the Dem side. I want a Rep senator from CT.

He wouldn't be openly planning a petition drive for no reason. No politician would do such a thing publicly unless they have a pretty good idea what the results are going to be.

Does this potentially put Connecticut in play, giving the Republicans a chance to win the seat? That would be a very good way to add to the GOP majority!

No, Lieberman is our republican.

Whatever Liebermans' leanings, he's got principles that he sticks to, which means he deserves our respect; for he is a Democract that can be reasoned with and has the WILL to defend this country!

They are ditching Leiberman becasue he's too conservative, not because he fits their worldview.

It's all relative. Lieberman has a lifetime ACU rating of 17 and 0 for 2004 and 8 for 2005. His ADA rating for 2005 was 80 and in 2004 it was 75. Kerry had only 25 in 2004 because he was absent so much.

In 1972 the Dems controlled Congress. In the Senate, it was 54-44 (plus 2 Independents) and in the House it was 255-180. The Dem party used to be constrained by the Southern Dem conservatives. Now they are drifting further and further Left with no moorings to the Right.

I think Lieberman is sending a message to the Dem party that they shouldn't mess with him and that the national party should be supporting him as the incumbent. He is laying down a marker. I still do not believe that Lamont will defeat him in the Dem primary and that the influence of the Daily Kos is greatly overestimated. It is the Howard Dean effect.

this was clear watching Hannity talk with Whoopie Goldberg last night. She acted sincerely upset at Bush because we haven't gotten Bin Laden. Well, if he got her tomorrow she'd say the timing's suspect. And I don't know if it'd be possible to show her ANY document or ANY WMD find re: Saddam where she would say, well done America. it's not about the war for her, as you put it!

1 Independent (Sen. Harry Byrd) and one Conservative (Sen. James L. Buckley, who was elected on the Conservative Party ticket over a Dimmycrap and a RINO appointed by Lord Nelson.)

I watched that interview a couple of weeks ago. She is not as rabidly unreasonable as some I've seen interviewed on the left -- Alex Baldwin, George Clooney, etc... I expected something entirely different in that interview than came out of it...
