Happy Independence Day to you, too!
I'm going to skip the DC fireworks show this time around, though- too much to do to be ready for work tomorrow. :-(

Yes, it did look better when originally posted
back here, but the type font seemed a little pale.

When I lived in DC, many years ago, we could see the Washington Monument and the fireworks display from our house. I was never overly fond of living in DC (my dad was in the Navy and we were stationed there through two tours of duty), but I do miss having all those National Treasures and Monuments so close and getting to watch such an awesome fireworks display from our front lawn. :-)

Yep, there it is. Thanks for the link. I had forgotten what it looked like on the table. The type font doesn't seem pale to me, but it is most likely the difference in our monitor settings. :-)

Enjoyed the Fourth of July opener Dolly. Thanks so much.
Here is a link to put your very own signature to the Declaration of Independence. I've already signed it and was thrilled to do it! :)
Happy Independence Day All!

This is a fantastic thread, Dolly. Thank you for including all those wonderful words of our founding fathers...gives me chills to read them.
I understand W gave an eloquent speech today to the troops. Hope I can catch a rerun.
Happy Fourth of July to all and

I am going to be expanding my server space so I can do music (need to learn how this fall) and also videos.. Linking to music is easy. You link to it just like you would hyperlink to a webpage....< a href="">song title< /a>. We used to be able to embed music here. Embedding music is a little more difficult, but, sadly that went away when John decided to shore up the security holes in FR. I used to have music embedded on my profile page....'til John pulled the plug. I understand why he had to do it, but I sure miss my music. :-(
If you ever need help with your music links, give me a holler. :-)

You mean that you missed out on the
real event? Twenty thousand people all trying to get into the Arlington National Cemetery Metro station at the same time? :-)
The National fireworks display is something that everyone ought to see at least once. I usually walk across the Memorial Bridge and watch it from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial- with the Reflecting Pool in the foreground, the Washington Monument in the background and the Capitol behind that. It's really spectacular.

Neat to see your I Day /4th o J Thread from 2002!
To: JustAmy; PrissyMissy
Happy 4th to you, Amy, and PrissyMissy - and Mr. JA too!
I need to get dressed and go over to Twin Oaks with JK to have lunch with his mom. They are doing a Tri-Tip barbecue today rather than the normal Tuesday salad bar. Should be good. And they always decorate up the dining room so pretty for holidays.
Later this afternoon we will put some ribeye steaks on the grill and cook up some corn on the cob, then strawberry shortcake for dessert. That will pretty much be the extent of our 4th of July festivities here. Not even a sparkler this year. LOL.
TTYL!
