If so, can you imagine his reaction every time NASA delayed. They would have had to keep the engines running:')

Should we laugh now or later at this pathetic and miserable effort! Sounds like the cop who couldn't shoot straight.

You are not being very "logical." You might want to take a breath and wait for more information.

The laser on the ABL will be a Oxygen-Iodine Laser.

Their TD-2 did not come near the range of our land based interceptors. We have other assets in the area as do the ROK and Japan. Other missiles launched were Scuds and were headed out to sea (Scuds have intertial guidance only), so no real need to overplay our hand. Also, if our airborne laser aircraft were in the area and zapped the "failed" TD-2, I doubt that we would let every Tom, Dick, and Harry know about it...yet.

Agree, but if these laser system are working, including our naval systems, would it not have been better to put on display. Downing Scuds is easier than during the time when Iraq dropped them on Israel. As far as the airborne laser, it has to be in the right area to be effective. I'm sure we have time to take their TD-2 out before they reach us since usually they are destroyed after they have passed the apex of their journey. But I'm more concerned if they manage to get a few Scuds into SK. Or hit Japan with TD-2. In a perfect world, Japan, SK, or we would take them out. But we are not perfect. And we are dealing with suicidal people.

I can't ascertain from what is reported so far that the North Koreans actually launched an ICBM that did not fall to earth promptly after launch. Did we shoot it down? Did they have a little failure of technology? Les gookes are going to shoot themselves.

Why both with Scuds that are headed for the drink? If they were headed for the ROK, then we would have acted. Why use anti-missile assets against Scuds that are only goig to pose a danger to fish and some squid?

N. Korea test-fires 10 missiles: defense intelligence source

SEOUL, July 5 (Yonhap) -- North Korea test-fired 10 Scud, Rodong and Taepodong missiles early Wednesday morning, a senior South Korean military intelligence source said.

"North Korea launched a total of 10 missiles. The Scud, Rodong and Taepodong missiles were test-fired on 10 different occasions," the official said, asking to remain anonymous because of the sensitivity of the information. "The missiles were launched from various places, including the Musudanri missile base." The official noted that North Korean was capable of launching various types of missiles from different missile bases because of their interoperable system.

I shouldn't have to explain, but I will: If we have a capability that renders other nations' military efforts obsolete, we shouldn't reveal it just willy-nilly since (1) it's a damn good thing to keep a secret and (2) the second we DO reveal it, they begin work to defeat it. See how this works?

And you think they don't know it now. Our problem is we have a tendency to think these people are so backward that they are totally ignorant. Much of this info has been published in magazines. May not be totally accurate, but don't think that we are the only intelligent Country in the World. That might get us killed. Guess we forgot they have nukes. And how did they do that? Oh, I see, they just built a bamboo hut and stirred them in a cast iron pot.

Maybe Tiny Kim's booster rocket needed a little help from Viaga in the fuel.

I wonder where the rocket scientists are sleeping tonight?
Six feet under?

Just hope that Jack Bauer got out of North Korea in time. I'm sure the Chinese are p*ssed he got off that freighter headed for Shanghai.

Oh, I see. We should have nuked Pyongyang in response to a half-arsed missile test? And you were worried about our image abraod..

Besides, nuking Pyongyang would be more like an urban renewal project rather than retaliation.
