It the July 4th Holiday, liberals and media hate it, and they took the day off, with the exception of a very few.

No one pays much attention to politics over the summer. They are saving up the phony scandals now until after Labor Day. Unless there's something really dramatic, we'll only see a bit of prep work before then.

The only thing I disagree with in this article is the need for a Special Prosecutor. Give the job to Fitzgerald since he has "made his bones" indicting Scooter hence is invulnerable to RAT/Traitor criticism.

All the administration needs is a thirty-second television ad in late September.

Still Photo: 9/11. A man jumping from the burning Twin Towers.

Still Photo: President Bush at Ground Zero.

Still Photo: Media headlines attacking Bush.

Still Photo: A wounded soldier with the President.

Zoom in on the front page of the New York Times, with a voice-over saying:

"Would you vote for these people to protect your country?"

You're correct. All that is needed. Pick up seats in both houses and a shoo-in for '08.

"Would you vote for these people to protect your country?"

Sadly enough, tens of millions of Americans will vote for the candidates from the Party of Treason.

"Was it only yesterday that the NYT and WaPo were roaring and thundering, month after month, at President Bush and the GOP—- to surprisingly little effect?"

Sounds like the "True Conservative" fringers around here.

There is, actually, a rumbling of discontent within the Democratic party that is directly attributable to the NY Times's recent outrage, the sudden shower of "our troops are murderers" stories, the puff pieces directed Murtha's and Kerry's way, and the promotion of grotesqueries such as the Daily Kos as the new voice of the party.

It is simply this - Dean may want it to be 1972 all over again but Hillary does not. The screamers then gave the election to Nixon. The screamers now don't care for anything but their own self-aggrandizement. To have her most powerful allies, the media, decide to promote the radical wing of the party she intends to ride to power is not how the script was written. It will be corrected, and the Times will fall into line - or else.

I think they realize that hate is not working. Unfortunately for them, hate is all they have. I stand by my tag-line...

Just to top it off, in a fit of hubris the NYT has published the home addresses of Dick Cheney's and Donald Rumsfeld, complete with a photograph pinpointing a hidden security camera in Rumsfeld's driveway.

Did they really do this? I mean... did they REALLY do this??

Has Murtha been told to shut it for now?

Good piece ss. I think J.R. Dunn may have nailed it but if he's right it's kind of a shame because the more Murtha opens his mouth, the deeper he implants his foot.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Independence Day and God Bless America and our troops.

Naw, the first-line presstitutes and talking heads are away for a couple of weeks in Hilton Head, Paris, Murtha's Vineyard, Grand Cayman, the Geraldo Riviera, Acapulco, the Hamptons.......y'know, all those places the little people, the poor, the oppressed and the downtrodden go to vacation.

If I were President,

I'd announce that we would not seek the death penalty for treason for the person who disclosed this critical wartime intelligence secret to the times, if they came forward before we caught them.

And I'd say nothing more about it...

I really haven't paid any attention to the media today.

But last I checked the main stories were about the failed missile tests from North Korea, Americans' patriotism undampened, and the feud brewing between Kos and Liberal Dems like Lieberman on Conneticutt. If they have lessoned their attacks, it's because they have their own problems taking center stage with that primary and the NYT's. I'm sure it's only temporary..if this author's impression is accurate.

Good article. The hush is a well timed pause during Independence Day / weekend. They were probably hoping terrorists would pick up their slack...they didn't want to look too obvious over the 4th.

Wishful thinking, my friend. In 2004, the Bush campaign ran an ad with 9/11 imagery, the Jersey Girls complained, end of ad. As usual, the gutless, spineless, balls-less crowd in DC bent over to the Dems.

I firmly believe that without the Swift Boat ads and the Rather scandal blowing up in his face (thanks in large part to Buckhead here on FR), Kerry would be President.

It sure as heck had nothing to do with the gutless wonders at the Bish campaign who let the opposition frame the terms of debate from Day One.
