What a joke! Can't wait to see how long her "fast" will last.

You are tougher than I, at 23 hours without sleep I start to cry uncontrollably. But then, I AM a girl.

Buy their ice cream -- support liberal causes.

From Howard Dean's "Gospel According to Job:

Maybe I'm wrong, but I think they are harmless. I draw the line at buying French cheese, but Ben & Jerry's doesn't seem to be funding anything really nasty.

The same with Paul Newman's salad dressings. As far as I can see, his charities are real charities, not the kind that kill babies or third worlders.

I would agree with you if they started giving large donations to pro-abortion politicians or the like, but I think they do less of that sort of thing than your run-of-the mill large corporation. And you can't boycott everything.

As I said, I may be wrong, but I think it's all bark but no bite. They sold out to a conglomerate long since, and all that hippie talk is just talk for advertising purposes.

"Why, she's now on Day Six of her total commitment to world solidarity, denying herself all sustenance until that evil Bush brings the Troops Home Fast; well, all sustenance that is, except an occasional Jamba Juice Smoothie or maybe some coffee with vanilla ice cream in it."

Oh brother...Is this really true?

Remember when Rev. Al went on a "fast" some time back for something or another? It turned out he was subjecting his body and soul to the harsh dicipline of a milkshakes-only diet. I predicted from day one that Cindy and Co. would be on the same brutally ascetic regimen. Despite the fact that she could really use thirty days without food, I'd be shocked if turns out that she truly fasted for even a week.

And therein lies their problem: Liberals fast like they fight wars; it's all about good intentions and appearances, all talk and no substance; and it must only be done in such a way that no one suffers real pain or true loss. It's all about feeling that you are accomplishing something; and when you no longer feel that, perhaps there is some actual pain involved, then it's time to pull back and put an end to that pain. Hey, how about a Ben & Jerry's pig-out?

That's what the Democrats and the Moonbats (I know that's becoming increasingly redundant) are offering the American public, a smoothie, ice-cream future free of the pain of fighting those misunderstood terrorists. Kerry, Murtha, Kennedy and their crowd feel your pain, America, and they know how to keep it at bay: just like liberal fasting, we'll only fight terror till it starts to hurt then we'll pull out and pig out on Ben & Jerry's new flavor created especially for Democrats: DeMinted Delight.

Not to worry...Liberals have immense tonnage in reserve. Their throw weight is awesome.

HUH?? You are funding her,

....TrueMajority -- an antiwar group founded by Ben Cohen, one of the creators of Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream -- hired Fenton Communications, a Washington public relations firm that has worked intermittently with Sheehan over the past year to coordinate media coverage.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/08/12/AR2005081201816.html

Leading the group is Fenton Communications employee, Michele Mulkey, based in San Francisco. Fenton specializes in public relations for liberal non-profits. Their bills are being paid for by True Majority, a non-profit set up by Ben Cohen -- of Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream fame.
Ben Cohen, True Majority: "People are willing to listen to her and we want to do as much as we can to make her voice heard."
Cohen's group has teamed up with Berkeley based MoveOn.org, an anti-Bush group co-founded by Joan Blades.

"Great article, but I must confess that I like Ben & Jerry icecream, especially Cherry Garcia and Vermonty Python."

You should really try to get some Blue Bell from the contented cows in Brenham, Texas. It is the ultimate.

I eat the cheap WalMart vanilla and pour on the WalMart chocolate syrup for a little added zing - satisfies my urges as good (well?) as the "good" stuff.

Found this on Michelle Malkin's site.

Kristinn Taylor at F/R points to Cindy's latest blog entry on her, uh, progress (also posted at the Crawford Peace House site):

I find traveling out of the country very challenging being on a fast. When I was on a layover in Madrid on my way to Venice, Italy yesterday, the closest thing I could find to a smoothie to get a little protein was a coffee with vanilla ice cream in it. Traveling for 22 hours is very taxing under normal circumstances--but then again, when have we had normal circumstances since the 2000 and 2004 successful coup attempts that have brought BushCo into power?

I traveled from Venice to the frontier of Italy to the province of Udine which is right at the foot of the pre-Alps. I am here for a huge youth festival which includes many elements of social justice and peace work. It is beautiful and the air feels different from other places that I have travelled. It is strangely soft and gentle as is the natural light. However, there is not a Jamba Juice on every corner, so blended juice drinks with protein powder are impossible to find.

Smoothies. Coffee. Vanilla Ice Cream. How much weight does she plan on gaining during this deprivation campaign?

Ben Cohen hasn't owned Ben & Jerry's for quite a few years now. They use his picture and his image, but he has no connection with management. He sold out to a conglomerate.

"How much weight does she plan on gaining during this deprivation campaign?"

I think she assumes she'll lose it all through vicarious exercise, if she manages to get America to collectively cut and run.
