Imagine my surprise when, after using the example of Bush's 2004 campaign ad showing an image 9/11 to chide some on the right yesterday for being a bit hypocritical with their outrage at the DCCC's new video, I read that Erick at RedState has used the exact same example....to charge Democrats of hypocrisy.
Let me see if I have this right. If you were against Bush using images of 9/11 in 2004 but aren't opposed to using images of flag-draped coffins in 2006, you're a hypocrite. So far so good. But if you weren't opposed to Bush using images of 9/11 in 2004 but are now up in arms over the use of an image of a flag-draped coffin, doesn't that also make you guilty of hypocrisy?
So unless Erick was opposed to Bush's use of the 9/11 image back in 2004, he's made a very effective case against himself, no?
Isn't there a pretty significant difference between the Bush ad, which ran the images in the spirit of touting his leadership in a national crisis, and the DCCC ad which demagogues dead soldiers in the pursuit of blaming someone?
No one can credibly argue the Bush ad was an attack on Democrats, or implied that the blood of 9/11 victims was on their hands. That is precisely what this sleazy DCCC ad does.
Anyone disagree?
The Dems have maneuvered themselves into the position of both requiring and promising a military defeat.
They have to convince you we are losing in order to get elected, and if elected, they have promised to abandon the field. They keep telling people that Iraq is another Viet Nam, the other place where the American Left made its bones, and if elected they will see to it that it becomes just that.
President Bush's ad says "let's defeat this horrible enemy",
the DNC says "we give up". Simple. It' borders on Treason.
It is horrible that the DNC will promote our defeat in order to gain power.
Hitler had Goebbles, the deomrats have Rahm.
