you could argue that the examples you site post a proximate threat to you... the idea that people in this country wihtout papers be given access to papers does not... so please explain. Or are you arguing that all people who break the law are the same?

Darn that RINO Dick Armey.
To: PDR
Yes, laws are laws and if we are going to allow people to break some of them then we are asking for people to break all of them. Why should anyone follow the laws? Are they only for legal Americans or what?
To: Rex Anderson
He really is the anti-christ, isn't he... if only Ton Vandergriff had prevailed back in 1984, all this could have been avoided.

a nation of laws can only function when justice is temper by mercy -- without it, it disolves into a tyranny.

We should be merciful, therefore I propose no punishment for those illegals who go back home and apply like the rest of the world. A three month grace period should be more then sufficent.

Perhaps you would like it better if we put them all in camps until we could deport them -- or should we just stad them up in a line and frog march them back across the border?
Penalizing employers of illegal aliens $1,000 per day per employee will dry up the jobs, and have them returning to Mexico in short order. It simply is highly immoral to allow illegal aliens to obtain the work Americans need and to come here ahead of those trying to immigrate here LEGAL who are waiting overseas 6 to 25 years. Quite frankly to my mind a person doesn't love America who puts illegal aliens ahead of Americans.

I do not blame the illegals. I do however get a little upset when they wave mexican flags and demand rights.
If Americans make 100 dollars a day but could make 1,000 a day by crossing the northern border, millions of Americans would cross illegaly.
I blame the politicians, all of them.

The market you are talking about pays illegal aliens far less than it would have to pay Americans. Indeed, in many cases less than a minimum wage. Additionally, American labor cannot compete with illegal aliens who crowd 20 individuals into an apartment.

A White House-backed coalition of business groups and immigrant advocates, to be called Americans for Border and Economic Security, will be led by former U.S. Reps. Cal Dooley (D-Hanford) and Dick Armey (R-Texas).Yep, business before security. I thought Armey was better than this.

Thanks for the article. Good read. Most Americans according to the polls also want a middle ground, but do want security of the border first.

I learned long ago not believe any poll.

I learned long ago not believe any poll.So what do you believe the American people want on this issue?
To: MACVSOG68
I cant say for sure. I do however believe a very large percentage of Americans will wish they had done something to stop the invasion in a few more years.
