Somehow I can't help but believe the real target is Iran.
Well... if they are going to spank Syria, might as well use that plan I'm sure they've been rehearsing to hit Iran and de-nukeisize them.
Maybe. Both Syria and Iran need serious regime makeovers.
But Syria is setting itself up as a target, while Iran is not. It's Syria that is clearly allowing Hamas to direct operations against Israel from their territory. And it's Syria who couldn't resist boasting that they fully supported Hizbullah's attacks on Israel. So it's Syria that will now be made to either kneel or pay.
But that's ok, because Syria is the easier target. Strategically, it makes sense to eliminate Syria first before Iran.
Iran has a mutual defense pact with Syria and I suspect that within 72 hours they will be renegging on that defense pact. What are they going to do? Stick their nose into a fight between Israel and Syria with the US on either side of their borders? President ammadjehad might be crazy enough to attack the U.S., but I really doubt it.
It took me a couple of months to see it when we first went into Iraq. We had Iran surrounded.
We had been bombing Iraq for over 10 years then, so we knew that a new Iraq war would be the easiest to win militarily, Syria and Iran would be fresh battles with fresh troops.
Israel would LOVE a good reason to take out Syria and Syria seems to be giving them that reason, and with us having troops in Iraq being killed by terrorists trained and supplied from Syria, we just might provide a LOT of help taking Syria down.
That would leave Iran the next target. We would be entrenched in a safer mid-east, with Syrian forces beaten down so as not to start a major rear flank attack on us if an attack into Iran was to begin.
I absolutely believe we went into Afghanistan first because they were just farmers with guns and no night vision goggles. We went into Iraq next to take out the loser, Saddam. Syria and Lebanon I believe the next PLANNED targets to eliminate the west side of terror of the fertile crescent.
Iran is the last country on this plan. It has the largest Army, the most difficult terrain to cover, the largest territory, and we would NEED a draft to get the men needed to actually invade.
A draft will only be acceptable in the present political climate if there is a nuke or bio attack here at home.
That would make sense since Iran is the true instigator behind this whole thing.
At some point, the world, including the US, better get wise to what we are dealing with. All this politically correct fancy dancing, pretending that these people are something more than just your basic savage, is getting a bit old.
I hope Israel bombs Iran, turns Syria into a big black hole and I hope WE give her the bombs.
The target is militant Islam....the lunatics it has launched against the world, and those who support them.
The enemy is a state of mind....the insane fanaticism of militant/pious Muslims who have been taught to believe that all "infidels" must be converted to Islam or enslaved if not murdered.
It's as simple as that..
