Twelve Egyptian sailors have been rescued and taken to al-Bassel Hospital in the Syrian coastal city of Tartous on Saturday after their ship which was in offshore Beirut in the Lebanese international waters was fired at, set ablaze by an Israeli barge that was firing at random in all directions. BWAHAHAHAHAHA....yeah, right.

Wait, this isn't the same Egyptian ship that was hit by a Hizbollah rocket, was it?

It must be the same ship that the Hezbollah missile shot at. I dont believe the Isralei's have any armed barges and, if they did I cant imagine them wasting ammunition by shooting in all directions.
Someone tell the Syrians that the basis of a good lie is that it have an element of truth. the only element here is the wounded Egyptians, the rest is pure unadulterated horse crap.

an Israeli barge that was firing at random in all directions What's the point of summer if you can't take the old barge out and fire in all directions just for fun... it's more fun than celebrating Sadie Hawkins Day by firing my gun into the air.

"their ship which was in offshore Beirut in the Lebanese international waters was fired at"
What the h*ll were they doing there given the circumstances and latest turn of events? Transporting Hezbollah terrorists?

This is the ship that was hit by the other missile meant for the Israeli warship.

Assuming the 65km (35 nautical miles) is correct that's a safe distance to stay off the coast of a war zone...if you didn't know that anti-ship cruise missiles were being lobbed around.

"...their ship which was in offshore Beirut in the Lebanese international waters was fired at, set ablaze by an Israeli barge that was firing at random in all directions." Phalanx. If they are telling the truth, that's what they'd see from their perspective if a Phalanx was shooting at a sea-skimmer.

Ah, the Islamic propaganda machine. This was the boat hit by the Hez., but the Syrians aren't going to admit that.

You know, I wonder if Syria realizes just how bad it makes Egypt out to be when it reports that an Israeli BARGE can kick Egyptian butt.

Come on now. There is no shame in your unarmed cargo ship being sunk by an armed vessel.

Wait, this isn't the same Egyptian ship that was hit by a Hizbollah rocket, was it? On Yahoo, I found this:
Nehushtan said another Hezbollah radar-guided anti-ship missile hit and sank a nearby Cambodian merchant ship around the time the Spear was struck. Twelve Egyptian sailors were pulled from the water by passing ships, Brig. Gen. Noam Fieg said.
So, I'm thinking this was a Cambodian Ship with Egyptian sailors? duh? Or is this a different ship?
