Sweeping in and siezing the Saudi oilfields is an unrealistic option except in the most dire of circumstances - if it ever comes to that, the global economic system would be thrown into chaos by the resulting increase in the price of oil and the geo-political instability, not a goal responsible nations (including the US) want to see happen.

Not if it's in response to radicals taking over in Saudi. Not only would we would be stabilizing the market for oil, rather than using it as a weapon, but we would be choking off the primary money source for international terrorist operations.
