This Breaking News" hype-crap has to stop, too!

It is so incessently Pavlovian.

What do they think we are, salivating dogs reacting to every emotional stimulus, rather than deep, relaxed, seasoned thinkers, capable of meaningful analysis and conclusions??

Unless, vast and increasing segments of Joe Six Pack Out there are becoming THAT dumbed down and easily manipulated--I hope their polling and marketing research does not show that. Otherwise, God Save Our Republic.

I hate the "breaking news" gong on Fox. It almost always precedes something incredibly trivial.

In these parts, we have a certain sound on our teevee stations that people know means a bad weather warning, as in huge tornados heading our way. Everyone snaps to and pays attention when they hear that sound. Well, some dufuses in advertising decided to begin their corny ads with that sound--finally, teevee stations refused to air such ads, out of concern that the next time a tornado headed our way, no one would pay any attention.

Fox has done that with their very stupid use of the breaking news feature. When real breaking news happens, I usually don't know it unless I see it on FR. I don't rely on Fox to tell me any more.

It's plain lying. That's what they do best and unfortunately, that's all there is.
