Which Side is the New York Times On?
Hot Air - Vent with Michelle Malkin ^ | July 17, 2006 | Michelle Malkin

This is probably one of the most terribly disturbing photoessays you will see -- And Michelle's commentary makes it even more so. The anger I feel upon viewing this and reading the title and text of the review can only be described as seething. I know not the god referred to in the pictures; it certainly is not the Judeo-Christian God. Click the link and view the presentation and then read the description of the photoessay below.

In the Company of God by award-winning New York Times photographer, Joao Silva
Issued by: STE Publishers

STE Publishers, in partnership with PictureNet Africa, have just published In the Company of God by award-winning New York Times photographer and co-author of The Bang Bang Club, Joao Silva.

In the Company of God is a photographic compilation that portrays Iraqi Shi'a Muslims in a period of occupation and transition. This photographic body of work, recorded over twelve months, richly captures the Shi'as' intense commitment to their faith and their indomitable spirit of sacrifice.

About the pictures
The pictures in this book are not displayed in a chronological order but rather in a manner that best illustrates a narrative about faith, sacrifice, war and martyrdom. They were taken while on assignment for The New York Times, from July 30 to November 3, 2003, from January 16 till April 1, 2004, from June16 until August 30, 2004, and again from January 18, 2005 until March 31, 2005.

I love Michelle Malkin's HotAir segments! Did you see her last one about the Cindy Sheehan diet? That was pretty funny!
:D

We all know it, even the libs - they just won't admit the bankruptcy, the dishonesty and the treachery of their position, because they want the power back at all costs.

Yes, I posted it on the Blogger forum here. This one is entirely different and deserved to be posted in the News forum. Take a look at some of the comments at the publisher's link. A lot of folks are understandably upset.

Sorry to have you wake up to see this. But the NYSlimes photographer describing Sadr's men this way is just sickening. Just when you think they can't get any lower...the slimes is a very apt description for them.

No humor here though -- she's dead serious and dead on right.

---This photographic body of work, recorded over twelve months, richly captures the Shi'as' intense commitment to their faith and their indomitable spirit of sacrifice.---

Oh please! They whine and complain endlessly at whatever misfortune befalls them. They feel absolutely nothing for the suffering of others outside their "religion". They have no respect for the beliefs of others and lie endlessly about their motives and actions. For all their grandstanding about their religion there is not a less spiritual people on the planet. I'd feel pity for them except now they've involved everybody else in their web of lies and murder.

Agreed. This from someone who, generally, is opposed to capital punishment.

Their 'religion' openly endorses the slaughter of innocent people who don't believe the same as them. Pigs, all of them.
