You could have just as easily said that the Islamists didn't like the UN giving some of the land that had been ancient Israel back to Jews as recompense for allowing the Nazi attempt at genocide and the Muslims, whose ancestors stole the land back in the 7th century, had been expressing their displeasure by trying to destroy Israel on a regular basis ever since.

The fact that Israel kept land that they took from the Muslims after the '67 attempt to destroy them has really ticked the Muslims off.

I'm not too bothered that the US is protective of Israel's existence since I believe it is in our best interests to be so, but that is just my opinion and we all know about opinions, eh, Crabby.

Its not a democrat/republican, liberal/conservative thing. The Democrats grovel before AIPAC just as much as the neo-conservatives sitting in the White House today. No, it neither warms my heart or chills my soul. That's Washington and, as disgusting as it is, there are others lobbying with just as much money and pressure as the Israelis. The Chicoms have bought as many politicians as the Israelis and the Chicoms are clearly our enemy.

I associated the word disproportionate with the DNC because I've heard it used by DemocRATs so often in regard to Israel's response to the murderous Islamists. Maybe you picked it up subconsciously for the same reason, but with a different take on it.

This discussion was originally concerned with the Israeli attack in Lebanon and the bizarre response of some people to it. If you have a problem with Israel you are just going to have be unhappy. Darn...you just don't get it. Israel gets the same welfare check whether the Dems or the Neo-cons are in office. Israel gets the same 100% backing in the House and Senate no matter who's in charge. If Israel is such a friend why do they spy on us, why did they attack the USS Liberty, killing our sailors. Its because we have this "friend" in the MidEast that we have so many enemies in that part of the world.

The attack on the Liberty was wrong, no matter the excuses Israel gave. So was the attack on the Cole. The enemy that damaged the Cole is the enemy we face today.

That enemy vows to take over the world and you need to get your head out of the darkness if you think they are doing this because they hate Israel, or that they would be our bosom buddies if we didn't support Israel.
