when I had dial up I could never totally load the toon thread.. I used to kid Pookie that I would open the thread, take oliver on an hour walk & when I got back it was STILL loading & many were red x's.

The same was true of the Dose.

Just got back from a doggie hike.. did about 4 miles.. reason I know it is a trail that is marked/measured & since it is raining/drizzling, no one else (in their right mind) was out!

I normally avoid public trails as they do not permit dogs to run freely.

Going to a wellness meeting tonight.. BBL

Nice job of wrapping it all up and putting a bow on it, JH2!

Thank you for that Maggie memorial Dolly. When I have time I'm going to tell everyone what Maggie did for me before she went home to be with the Father. It's late and I'm more weary by the day. But people are being saved and that is the most important thing.

Dang Dollie, you messed up my screen again. It went all blurry for a little bit. Thinking about our Maggie Marine. I envision her on traffic detail... Directing Jihadies, Down and Fallen American, Coalition, Iraqi Army and Israeli troops, through the gates.

Wonderful card though. Thanks.

Another great presentation Dolly and JH2.
Seems the MSM folks had to set up a conference call to get their story straight -- "We'll give a passing comment that Israel has the right to defend itself, but at 3 pm Eastern, we start defending those poor Hezzie victims."
John, you apparently didn't get the memo or the conference call hook-up.

Beautifully done, Dolly, as always. Thank you so much. And thanks to all for dropping by.

So enormously sorry to hear of our Maggie's passing. I will miss those always witty 'Dear John' letters of hers.

I never had the fortune to meet her personally, only spoke to her over the phone earlier this month. She was so friendly and kind -- like we had known each other a lifetime. What a kind and gentle soul she was. Great sense of humor.

She is home with the Lord now, but she left our world a better place than she found it. Of that there can be no doubt. Thanks to her profound love for America and her burning patriotism. Her life was a model to emulate and an inspiration to all of us. We are all richer for having known her, this wonderful, precious soul.

May she rest in peace.

And what’s even more amazing is the truth that Jesus endured this suffering for you and me!

Amen, on our behalf he was separated from the Father, so we wouldn't have to be! Jesus is the Way home for every prodigal, and the Father at the end of the journey, amen!

Did Hezbollah go to war without enough troops and without a plan to win the *piece*? With Hez getting its bollah hopelessly bogged down ever deeper in quagmire, where's their exit strategy?

Wow! Excellent thoughts!

The Far Side Of The World

READ: Colossians 3:1-4

Our citizenship is in heaven. —Philippians 3:20 Patrick O’Brian (1914-2000) is a celebrated author of historic novels. In 1969 he published Master And Commander: The Far Side Of The World, a novel (later turned into a successful movie) about naval warfare during the Napoleonic War. One reason for this book’s popularity is O’Brian’s careful attention to navy lore and natural history with penetrating insights into human nature.

In one stirring scene, Captain “Lucky Jack” Aubrey prepares his crew for battle. He tells them: “England is under threat of invasion, and though we be on the far side of the world, this ship is our home. This ship is England.”

Captain Aubrey’s view of citizenship is based on loyalty, not location. And this conviction clearly illustrates a biblical principle. Paul wrote to the church at Philippi, a Roman colony: “Our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ” (Philippians 3:20).

It is important for us to be reminded that though we are living on this side of heaven for now, our eternal home is the place where our loyalty should lie. We need to “set [our] mind on things above, not on things on the earth” (Colossians 3:2). Dennis Fisher

Beyond earth’s sorrows, the joys of heaven;
Beyond earth’s shadows, a glorious dawn;
Beyond earth’s battles, sweet peace unending;
Beyond earth’s sunset is heaven’s first morn.  —Gilmore

As you mind your earthly duties, keep heaven in mind.
