Honor the 241 Marines Massacred in Lebanon
SaveTheSoldiers.com ^ | July 21 2006 | Mullah Bruce

It is all too easy to forget the past. As Israel, a multi-cultural, and diverse democratic nation engages in war with murderers from Hezbalah and Hamas, it is important to remember the 241 Marines who gave their lives on a peacekeeping mission in Beirut, Lebanon. These brave soldiers were rewarded for their sacrifice with a suicide bombing that used 15-20 tons of explosives by the same Hezbalah that Israel today battles. They say that those who do not remember history are doomed to repeat it. The bombing was done by Hezbalah with the backing of Iran. Sound familiar? We honor the fallen, celebrate their lives but will never forget who was responsible for this-the largest death of US Marines in non-combat operations in World history.

Semper-Fi.

Thank you for posting this and this is the first time I have seen a site that had such good information on the cowardly bombing.

241 Marines Killed in Beirut

And how did the U.S. punish Hezbollah and Iran?

3 Americans killed in Gaza Strip blast

October 16th, 2003
"Gaza Strip — A remote-controlled bomb exploded under a U.S. diplomatic convoy Wednesday, ripping apart an armored van and killing three Americans in an unprecedented deadly attack on an official U.S. target."

"The attack targeted a convoy of U.S. Embassy diplomats heading to Gaza to interview Palestinian candidates for a Fulbright scholarship, Bush said."

collegiatetimes.com/

And how did we punish the Palestinians? We send them $$$.

Our mission in Beirut was a mistake that was doomed to failure, but we did our best given the constraints. Our nation learned the hard way that there is no peace until one side gains a decisive hand and all sides want peace. And we learned that peacekeeping is not possible until there is a peace to keep.

Thank you for remembering my old shipmates, and for your post. We can honor them best by crushing the terrorists, especially Hizb'Allah, and never granting them a safe haven in which to fester. Two down (Afghanistan and Iraq) and now two to go (Syria and Iran).

Your website mistakenly notes the date of "October 22, 1983" in connection with the truck bomb attack on the BLT 1/8 headquarters building. The actual date was Sunday, October 23, so you might want to make that correction.

Thanks again. Semper Fidelis...

The IDF is helping pay respect to the memory of our fallen soliders with a continuous gun salute right now. God Bless Israel.

The best way to honor their memory is to get a list of Hezbullah targets and send up a massive airstrike like we did in Iraq, and then wipe out hezbullah.

If needed, use US ground troops.

Indeed we do.

It's fashionable today for people to criticize Reagan for not bombing the living sh*t out of hezbollah after this atrocity, but you have to remember what Reagan was up against - there was no stomach at the time for a massive response. As a matter of fact, had Reagan went ahead and launched a massive attack on hizbollah, congress and the press would have drug him out of the WH and lynched him. There was no public support for a war in Lebanon at that time.

May the souls of these brave men be at peace with God, and may the IDF send those hezbollah bastards straight to hell where they belong.
