The tenth anniversary of the destruction of TWA Flight 800 shows that government and media cover-ups do succeed. The prevailing myth is that the fuel-tank somehow exploded, causing the plane to crash. But the evidence shows it was destroyed by missiles. The possibility of a terrorist attack, which would have been a huge embarrassment for the Clinton Administration, cannot be ruled out.
It is an event that should be treated as an ongoing investigation, and it's still not too late to determine the truth of what happened. What is not in dispute is that at 8:19 p.m. on July 17, 1996, the Boeing 747 took off from Kennedy Airport in New York, headed for Paris. About 12 minutes into the flight, the plane exploded, killing all 230 people aboard, as the burning wreckage fell into the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Long Island.
Some 260 people, unknown to each other, witnessed an object flying toward Flight 800, and of those, 92 saw the object rise from the surface. These are all people who gave sworn statements to the FBI. The eyewitnesses include highly reliable people like Maj. Fred Meyer, an attorney and pilot who is a recipient of the Distinguished Flying Cross for his service in Vietnam. The night that TWA 800 went down, Meyer was flying a helicopter for his National Guard unit, and had perhaps the best perspective of anyone who witnessed the tragedy. I described in a commentary last November his frustrating experience trying to describe to the FBI what he saw, and other examples of the compelling evidence that strongly indicate that TWA 800 was brought down by missiles, and covered up by the government. The evidence includes explosive residue found in the wreckage, radar data, and testimony. . . SNIP

The day the truth comes out about twa800 is the day the miitary lets Saddam out of prison and say, "Sorry Saddam, here's your country back for you to govern with an iron fist, we're outta here."
The one test that "did work".... was a rigged experiment with 40% avgas and 60% jet-a - which is explosive even without a spark.
AS LONG AS I LIVE, I WILL NEVER BELIEVE THAT TWA-800 WAS AN ACCIDENT...................
Who did that test? NBC?.........
Now... that's pure BS coming from anybody in the Clinton administration... but I think it was done for a purpose. The purpose being that TWA800 was taken down by missile/s... and that new information will prove it.

The possibility of a terrorist attack, which would have been a huge embarrassment for the Clinton Administration, cannot be ruled out.
Very similar to john doe #2 at the OKC bombing. Witnesses reported an arabic looking 2nd suspect. klinton didnt need a islamic terror group killing folks here, but a right wing paramilitary bunch, now that was perfect! SO, forget about #2, kill McVeigh off in record time, sweep it under the rug in time for the '06 election. Incidentally, look at the composite of john doe #2, then look at jose padilla. Now check McVeigh's wife's maiden name. padilla.
McVeigh was never married. Where did you find a wife?
So why doesn't Bush just expose the massive coverup?
You mean, for one momentous moment, it wasn't Bush's fault?
He's had more important things to do, like expand medicare, enact Campaign Finance Reform, and give billions to huge farming conglomerates.
"He's had more important things to do, like expand medicare, enact Campaign Finance Reform, and give billions to huge farming conglomerates."
You forgot his important work in expanding the education bureaucracy through NCLB.
Darned if I know. Maybe some sense of not "tarnishing" the Klintoon legacy?
Well, maybe just that one time. . .
Yes, that, and opening the borders, and a lot of other things. He's been too busy to pull the lid off Kirintong's corruption. Way too busy.
Are you sure of that?
"Darned if I know. Maybe some sense of not "tarnishing" the Klintoon legacy?"
Hard to believe Bush cares about that. And even if he DOES, I'm darned sure Rove and Cheney wouldn't.
It wasn't...
But as individuals, once again, we'll lose this battle, and they'll win the public trust...ad nauseum...
I was, and still retain the training and experience as a military radar operator...I'm not talking about all the "processed" imagery that is piped to most Air Traffic Controllers these days...Although there are fallbacks to their systems, it is not a common method of controlling our skys...
I had a chance after this aircraft went down to look at some tape (raw radar data) of the area in question...And after desseminating all of the clutter and other explainable returns on the screen (i.e.: running rabbits, et. al.)...
TWA800 was clearly identifiable and able to be tracked easily...
Since a ground/sea launched hand-held SAM has a short flight time, you usually only get lucky to see a single sweep return on these things if you're watching for one...So timing is more like luck than intentional...
The quality of the tape was not as good as I figured it would be, so there is not much you can do about that...
So my input and theory is based more on how this could possibly have happened...
If you are of the type that believes everything the government tells you is gospel, far be it from me to try and convince those people otherwise...
But, if you think like the bad guys in this one, the results are obvious...And something that I do not believe was as thoroughly investigated as it should have been...
- private boat (charter, no paperwork etc etc)
- scanner set to monitor departure and control freq's
- listen for a target of opportunity, TWA800 was a regular scheduled flight, in a list of many others that evening..."TWA800 heavy"...Learn the terminology...
- position yourself under the departure corridor, and wait
- The next step is elementary...
- after the attack, blend in with the recovery folks, and wait for the chance to exit the area without drawing too much attention...
- operation complete...
Then you ask yourself, who benefits from both sides of the argument of terrorist attack, or terrible accident?
Since it was investigated and determined to be an accident, who or whom benefitted from that conclusion?
If it had been determined to be a terrorist attack, who would have benefitted from that conclusion?
When you look at these events with the blinders off, it doesn't so much difuse or complicate things anymore than they already are...So the tone set at the begining is critical...In this case they did not want it to go any farther than it did in regards to a terrorist attack...So they let the conspiracy theorist take that idea and run it into the ground making it easier to dismiss and strengthen their conclusion even more...
Its been like this for as long as I can remember...
So what do we do about it?
I have an idea, but as an individual, its hard to get that wave going...
Later,
Steve
