I know what you mean.

I remember when I started my career and me and my "newbies" we would sometimes have to work 16-18 a day trying to finish projects. We would be hold up in big conference rooms, tables covered in pizza boxes, gallons of coffee/soda, and often times our senior partner would come in a give us a pep-talk. Sometimes we would even walk up behind us and give us a 10-15 second neck message; to the guys and girls. You know, it was one of the "keep up the good" work type things. Nobody thought of it as sexual. He was very charismatic and everyone like him.

We always called him the Ragin' Cajun since he was from the bayou's outside of Baton Rouge. So maybe it is more a Southern thing.

Hey, he's a folksy kind of guy. Great. However, a head of state should never do what he did. It was vulgar behavior. I'm grateful it was out of character for him.

GWB's actions were not presidential. I seem to remember something he did about a year ago when I said the same thing, but I can't recall what it was. Merkel is a head of state and needs to be treated with respect in public. GWB may be a friendly guy and likes to give everybody nicknames and such, but many natural behaviors have to be controlled when you're president. He's a head of state too and needs to act like one at all times. The Clintons defined down the office of the president. We' don't need a Republican doing the same.

Go back to the Moon if you dare to compare Bush's innocent back rub with the presidential rapes and intern-blowjobs of Clinton, Moonbat.

The Clintons were defining down the office before any of that became public.

GWB does need to be more careful about acting presidential.

Sorry for the knee-jerk reaction, but I bristle when W is compared to Clinton in any fashion! Please remember this was somewhat "stealth" video before the actual meeting, not intended for the public. You may not like what W did, but it is NOT even CLOSE to BJ.

But I apologize for the name-calling, Moonman!

Regardless of how we might do shoulder rubbing in our families, and regardless of how the Clinton family discusses boxers or briefs, that wasn't the setting for this gesture. Decorum is not mere a nicety.

LOL, I´m wondering what all this fuss is about! Really.
German newspapers comment not on the President´s gesture but on the reaction of the American news and web-users. It was meant as a friendly gesture by Pres. Bush, but it´s clearly visible that Merkel was surprised and didn´t like it until she found out it was meant funny. No problem at all, let´s go on.

A story and video are on the front page of CNN.com, too. This is the stupidest thing to make front page news. This is our hackjob US media doing their best to undermine our President world wide.

Germany´s (and Europe´s) most-read tabloid titled "Bush´s love attack for Merkel". You know, just two days before he did that, he visited her in a rather private atmosphere in her constituency and they were having a BBQ with their partners. I think Bush just wanted to show the world that he´s sympathy for her, under these circumstances it´s NOT an expression of disrespect.
