Debka is to intelligence what the Weekly World News is to journalism.

"Our sources add Syrian fighter pilots are sitting in their cockpits."

Is that a typo? Did you leave out an "h"?

Tehran’s direct military intervention in the conflict was accompanied by an Iranian weapons airlift which began landing Wednesday, July 19, at the Abu Ad Duhur military airfield north of Homs.

An airlift. That's interesting. I wonder if they are running under cover of commercial traffic. Is there commercial traffic between Iran and Syria?

Why, yes, there is commercial air traffic:

Makes sense. The IDF can bomb Lebanon's airports, but the Iranians can fly into Damascus and resupply Hezbullah by moving the stuff on the ground into Lebanon from Syria.

1) don't read debka, it pollutes your mind.

2) don't post debka, it pollutes our minds.

They are probably going through the mountains and moving it via ground through Iraq.

No way.

We wouldn't expect it and Al Queada does have supply lines and protection.

Well, for safety sake,
cross-reference assertions there
with World News Daily . . .

If you take a look at the map, the Iranians would have to skirt the Iraq-Turkish border. I seriously doubt that they could do so without us being aware of it. Satellite technology and other technical monitoring would reveal any significant movement of trucks from Iran carrying missiles and rockets.

Better yet, late at night, a carbomb/truckbomb goes off outside the embassy of Iran in Damascus, a very very big blast, I am talking RDX. Courtesy of the Shin Bet or Mossad.

Then a 'claim of responsiblity' from a previously unheard of wahabbist cleric in Riyadh..Just to watch the whole place go up..Something to the effect of 'We killed Ali, back in the 12th, we shall do it again..." At that point, watch Mahmood's simian head explode...

Oh yeah, unrelated question why haven't any creative media types done creative editing video wise, showing Mahmood, Giving Khameni mano a mano jollies, barney frank style?? Remember Arafat was a known bonesmoker--What ever happened to good old fashioned psyops??

How come 'caution' was added to the Debka story? Is it considered a reliable source?

I think more info is needed and verification. Some aspects of the story need more explaining and/or detail.

What air routes are being used? I would think they'd be challenged over Iraq or Afghanistan. What assets and routes do they have to transport from the airfield to the front in South Lebanon? Roads, bridges etc are out so I'd think the transfer would be next to impossible and any convoy is going to stick out like a sore thumb on Lebanon roads. I haven't seen any other reports of this either, not even on other conservative sites.

You mean like the satellites that monitored the removal of the WMD from Iraq by truck that we lost?

The difference is that this time we will destroy the trucks and not allow them free passage.

Traderrob, thanks for your somewhat conciliatory comment on Debka.

A few comments to all the DEBKA trashers out there.

1. It was the very, very, very fringe groups with their posters, pamphlets, broadsides, articles, leaflets etc. which FIRST and EARLIEST identified who Hitler was, his values, priorities, goals MOST ACCURATELY.

2. imho, Debka has a LOT better sources than the MSM seems to be remotely aware of.

3. Debka may go out on some limbs on interpretation but that's fine with me. I'd rather have their speculations than the MSM "certainties" any day.

4. Debka may be used by powers that be for disinformation purposes in many different contexts, situations, scenarios. That goes with the territory. The MSM is used manipulatively, in Machiavellian ways toward Machivellian global government goals 100% of the time or near it.

5. I have not found that Debka is as near wrong as the 'gestalt' group think about Debka hereon makes Debka out to be. Maybe I haven't been keeping a good score at all. But it seems to me that there's an 'in-crowd' sort of trashing that has taken hold against Debka. Personally, I think it's been MOST instigated and fanned by the liberal . . . welllll, the liberals amongst us. But it's sad to see so many true conservatives jump on that bandwagon so persistently and faithfully in behalf of the liberal cause and objectives.

6. I see Debka as an early warning sort of clue in. They report various inputs from varioius well connected sources. There's often a fair amount of speculation. Whatever percentage is probably deliberate disinformation from the powers that be. What else is new. That's the nature of journalism.

7. Debka is merely--at best--even when it's IS the best of the best on a topic--it's merely one channel of information. One has to compare it with others; for Believers, pray about it and discern what to put much stock in and what to wait and see how much of it falls of the shelf confirmed. So what. That's the nature of journalism.

8. No doubt the Debka trashing will continue. But I hope there are some who consider it as one often enough valid source of input for careful evaluation--as one would any other media source.
