I have fired all including a full auto M-14 (which is better than the M1A IMHO). Each has their own place.

I have my marksman expert badge using the M-16.

Gettin' a little bump fire action with that M-4orgery with the ACOG on it.

Love to see people having a good time like that.

Was the little girl the "Alyssa" in the credits? Dang, she was throwing serious lead downrange...

Isn't a full-auto M14 hard to handle?

"Yeah, aesthetically-speaking, I like the M1A better than the AR/M16. I haven't fired either though!"

M1A (.308) beats AR's (.223) any day.

Man you gotta get to a range sometime and try it ... its definitely a "BLAST".

It is the same as the civilian 308 round. The weapon is pretty heavy so it was not as hard to handle as you might think. If it was chambered for the 30-06, I think that would be a different story.

Ah ok. I got that impression from this line on Wikipedia: Also, because of the M14's powerful 7.62 × 51 mm cartridge, the weapon was virtually uncontrollable in fully-automatic mode.

I also had a friend with (A FULLY LEGAL) full auto Mac-10 45 caliber. Hammering away at a target with that in full auto was incredible. Could not hit the side of a barn, but a blast to shoot.

What was that extra click each time the AR cycled?

Trigger release.

I tried out a full-auto one time. AR-15?? I forget... I won't forget what a blast it was, though!
