Just got back from a weekend in Hot Sulphur, near Lake Granby shown above. Lots of red trees on the hills across town from us. By next year they will start turning gray, and the fire hazard will be extreme. Between the lightning and the idiots with their campfires (fire ban is in effect) there is sure to be a huge fire in the area before long.
It didn't look much better in Vail last week..

The San Isabel National Forest is just as bad. Our property abutts that forest and it's gotten into our trees, too.
Getting harder and harder to cut them down to keep up with the infestation.
