"A man climbs on the dome of a mosgue, part of a religious complex that USED to consist of the mosque and a religious school"

What a beautiful sight...should be made into a postcard and mailed to every mosque in the US.

I have not heard from my colleagues that live in Beirut.

They may be dead but that is okay with a lot of our FR brethren.

Collateral damage.

Ughhhhh!

another shot..

People walk in the rubble of a religious complex, that used to consist of a mosque and a religious school, destroyed by Israeli warplane missile attacks inside the port city of Sidon, Sunday, July 23, 2006. Israel hit inside Sidon for the first time in its campaign, destroying the complex linked to Hezbollah and wounding four people. (AP Photo/Lefteris Pitarakis)

one, have you ever uploaded anything to a site like YouTube? and two, have you ever met Steve Harrigan of Fox news? He's back over there and is one good reporter.

I've never uploaded anything to YouTube. I have seen a few things on there, though.

Ah, so the reporters are trickling back into Iraq? I haven't met Steve Harrigan, although I've seen him on Fox plenty of times. The Baghdad media HQ is not far from where I am, though. Perhaps I'll pay a visit. ;-)

08:38 MK Steinitz: Inefficacy of ground operation is exposing our weakness (Haaretz)

I give the IDF credit for what appears to be a methodical approach; the Hezebola beast has grown for six years and it will take time to map out its entrails. Progress is cumulative and "each link connects to two more".

What is your screen name over on YT? What category do you post under or general category to do a search for your work? I checked today/Sunday, for any ME war coverage and the left has taken over. Just about everyone hates the joos and Lebanon is just an innocent victim.

I read a fascinating piece on IDF strategy indicating that its military strategy focused on encircling Hezbollah with the intentions of choking them. This in contrast to a "head but" so to speak. I have read a few times from IDF sources that there does seem to be a learning curve. They're having to learn Hez.tactics specifically handling the rocket launchers.

"part of a religious complex that used to consist of the mosque and a religious school, destroyed overnight by Israeli warplane's missile attacks "

The other part, not shown by MSM, was a munitions depot, also destroyed.

We've made some goofy videos here. I'm not sure if I'd want the world to be able to see them. LOL

How would I view yours?

"Nasrullah probably has a sophisticated computer program and database to cover his launch sites, targets and rocket characteristics. "

Quite possible considering we are starting to see more and more signs of Iranian / Syria technology poping up in this fight, like those anti-ship missiles. Wouldn't suprise me if Iran has a advanced set of operation centers setup directing missile fire with Iranian military on the ground cordinating Hezbollah's actions. Haifa continues to get hit consistantly.

It's interesting how we view that whole thing differently when we've been in these countries and gotten to know the people, isn't it? Whole different perspective.

I hope your friends and colleagues in Beirut are OK.

Here's an excerpt from Jerusalem Post:

Criticism has been heard in the army on the hurried way that some of the forces were sent into the village. The Egoz force was sent in daylight by a route that exposed them to Hizbullah, and some of the tanks operating in the area weren't properly protected.

On Sunday a makeshift workshop had been set up on the old border road next to Moshav Avivim, where technical teams were attaching huge steel plates underneath Merkava tanks to protect them from explosive devices like the one that had killed four soldiers during the first hours of the kidnapping that began the conflict 12 days ago.

"That's the way it works, you learn from mistakes" said the chief of one of the technical crews. Not only ground devices worried the tank crews. A tank driver from Brigade 7 resting at the side of the road after his tank had left Lebanon said that "many of our tanks took hits, mainly from Sagger rockets; none of the tanks were destroyed but quite a few of our friends were wounded."

OC Northern Command Maj.-Gen. Udi Adam said at a briefing at Northern Command on Sunday that "the force in Maroun Al-Ras came across opposition that necessitated additional back-up and a paratrooper force professionally took control of the village."
